Compliments

Serena poured tea with her back facing Emma. There was no warmth in her eyes, but she said, 

"None of us thought that the Le family would be so difficult to deal with, so we fell into a trap. It's not our fault, the Le family is just too despicable."

This sentence pleased Emma. Yes, she didn't do anything overboard to everyone, but the Le family was the one who kept holding them back.
