Deoxys: Reborn

[3rd POV]

Once upon a time, a meteor from space crashed onto a land known as Hoenn, and within born a new being. Slowly emerging from its shell was a purple gem that shone brilliantly under the moonlight. 

Gaining sentience, the gem knew it needed to grow, and it desperately fed on the energy in its surroundings. In time, it gained a body, and the alien pulled itself out of its shell.

The sensation of the soft grass hitting its feet gave the creature a calm feeling, and it observed its new body. It has a slender physique with a reddish-orange skin tone. Blue stripes ran along the upper portion of its body, a slim black abdomen, a pair of tentacles coiling together on each side, blunt protrusions on its head and finally, its purple gem glowing on its chest.

Picking up a small flower by its feet, the fascination of life sprouted from its soul. Everything about this world was something that intrigued the alien's mind. However, that would have to wait as dangers loomed around the corner...

Hearing a fierce roar, the alien spotted a flying green dragon soaring through the sky. Without hesitation, the dragon attacked, and the alien desperately fought back with everything it had.

The aftermath of the battle was catastrophic, leaving a massive barren land on the edge of Hoenn. Being a newborn, it couldn't match the sky dragon's strength and escaped with an inch of its life.

The fight became a world-shocking event forever engraved in humanity's history. People then named this unknown creature that stands toe to toe against the legendary dragon Deoxys and the mighty beast Rayquaza.

After the battle, Deoxys went into hiding to recover from its injuries. Thankfully, shaking the dragon off its track, it was able to mend its wounds. With a gentle nature, Deoxys didn't harbour hatred towards Rayquaza and instead used its time to learn more about this planet.

After escaping from the dragon's clutches, Deoxys spends its time exploring this world. Interacting with the species known as Pokemon, they taught Deoxys their knowledge and culture.

Throughout its exploration, the alien also encountered beings that have similar strength to the sky dragon. Some were friendly towards Deoxys while others attacked with hostility. However, with the knowledge and experience it gained, Deoxys could hold its ground and occasionally defeat its foe.

With each battle, Deoxys's power soared, slowly rising through the ranks of the powerhouses in this world. Yet, with each attempt at its life, it didn't harbour hate towards those attacks but instead, it wanted to know them more.

As Deoxys's knowledge expanded, one particular species constantly mentioned by the Pokemons caught Deoxys's interest.

Humans.

Pokemons explained to Deoxys that humans were a highly dangerous race, but no matter how much the alien observed, it doesn't understand why that's the case.

They don't possess any psychic powers, incapable of flight, and have limited strength and speed. However, despite that, the human population overwhelmed the world with technologies that leave the alien stunned.

Amongst the humans, there were certain individuals that call themselves trainers. They were people that befriend Pokemon and they battle with them. Watching the relationship between Pokemon and their trainers, an emotion began to form in its heart.

A feeling of jealousy.

Deoxys was envy towards the trainers and their Pokemon, how they could rely and care for each other, it was something Deoxys never experienced.

Someone that it could trust, someone it could love...

With this realisation, an excruciating loneliness settled in, eating away at Deoxys's consciousness. To fill that empty void, the alien has a new goal: to find another one of its kind.

[Time Skip: Decades later.....]

After travelling for so long, Deoxys has already lost track of time. This was the second time it circled around the globe, and the Pokemon's determination wavered.

Woosh!

Suddenly, as Deoxys soared through the air, it saw a bright meteor plummeting from the clouds.

BOOM

There was a major explosion as the meteor crashed into the ground. Deoxys instantly changed its trajectory, flying towards the crash site. Anticipation sprouted in its body as the Pokemon landed a distance away.

The meteor collided with a forest, with numerous trees and plants charred. Deoxys quietly approached the steaming rock and split it open with its limb.

Upon seeing the green gem resting at the centre, Deoxys's entire body froze. It simply doesn't know how to react. All the time searching has finally led to this, and Deoxys was in disbelief.

It sensed the familiar Psychic energy slowly seeping into the surroundings. Unaware of Deoxys's presence, the gem curiously scanned its environment. Finally, snapping out of its daze, Deoxys emitted a little of its power and revealed its presence.

The gem was instantly startled and retracted its energy to hide its presence.

'Child...' Deoxys said telepathically.

The alien gently reached out and caressed the gem, and a wave of emotions was transmitted into its mind. It was scared when Deoxys placed its tendril on top of the gem. However, that fear turned into astonishment when it recognised the striking similarity of their energies.

Deoxys gently grasped the green gem as if it were the most fragile thing in the world. The Pokemon cradled the crystal in its arms. 

'You must be hungry...' Deoxys said soothingly, holding out one of its tendrils.

Like a gentle stream, the Pokemon poured its Psychic Energy into its child. Noticing the large amount of energy, the gem devoured the vitality with vigour. Deoxys watched lovingly as the child devoured its energy, eating as much as it possibly could.

Deoxys remembered the time when it was first born when it fervently drained the energy of its environment.  However, having barely any resources, Deoxys's starting strength was so weak that it suffered considerable damage...

'It won't be like that this time...' Deoxys thought: 'I will be here, you won't be alone.'

Suddenly, an ear-piercing roar shattered the sky, and Deoxys's eyes widened: 'No....'

The Pokemon raised its hand and saw a humongous green dragon flying through the air. Rayquaza glared at Deoxys, and the alien shivered. Finally, his reptilian pupils dilated when he saw the gem in its hand.

Instantly understanding Rayquaza's arrival, Deoxys ran with the child in its arms. Placing the priority of the gem as the most important, it couldn't afford to fight.

'Why dragon.... hostile?' A message entered Deoxys's head, and it glanced at the green gem flickering statically.

'Don't worry, I will keep you safe.'

BOOOOOM

Sensing danger, Deoxys used Protect and cast a barrier. A bright white beam crashed into the transparent shield, scorching the area around them. When the Hyper Beam stopped, Deoxys deactivated the barrier and glared at Rayquaza coldly.

It considered using Teleport to escape. However, the alien knew Rayquaza would find them in no time. The only method was to drive the dragon off forcibly.

Rayquaza unleashed a Dragon Pulse towards Deoxys; using Psychic, Deoxys sent the green gem to safety and fired a Psycho Boost in response. The two projectiles struck each other, creating a deadly explosion.

Transforming into its attack form, Deoxys chased after Rayquaza, and the Pokemon clashed in the air. Dodging his Dragon Claw, it flew along Rayquaza's body while firing Shadow Balls into his face.

Enduring the pain, Rayquaza twisted his body and smashed his tail into Deoxys's torso. The alien was sent crashing into the ground. Deoxys pulled itself out of the earth, prepared to continue. However, Rayquaza was nowhere to be seen.

Pushing its Psychic power to the limit, Deoxys's energy enveloped the entire continent. Finally, the alien located Rayquaza and the dragon was moving away from itself at a blurring speed.

Terror filled Deoxys's mind when it realised Rayquaza's intention. Entering its speed form, Deoxys chased after the mad dragon, bursting the sound barriers.

The Pokemon fly with all its strength towards the location of its child. It was a race between life and death, and if Rayquaza arrived first, he would undoubtedly destroy the green gem....

After flying for a while, it finally spotted Rayquaza and its child in the distance. The dragon was still far away but was getting closer by the second. Suddenly, Deoxys sensed an immense pressure emitting from the dragon.

To Deoxys's shock, Rayquaza begins to transform. Now, the dragon has jagged sword-like patterns extending from his eyes and down his neck. Around his head are protrusions with fiery, tail-like growths at the tip. A pattern of four figure-eight-like sections on the lower pair of these protrusions extends from both sides of the triangle-like extension next to Rayquaza's jaw.

'Mega Evolution!' Deoxys exclaimed.

It knew about this special phenomenon, but Deoxys never would've thought Rayquaza had this ability, too!

The dragon's speed increased as a white aura enveloped the Pokemon. Using Dragon Ascent, Rayquaza intended to collide with the gem, obliterating it from this world.

'I won't let you!' Deoxys screamed.

Arriving by its child side, Deoxys frantically covered the gem with its own body. Raising one of its arms, it cast another protective barrier and braced itself from the impact.

BOOM

Rayquaza roared and pushed against the shield while Deoxys hastily maintained the barrier. However, no matter what it does, Deoxys knows Rayquaza will break through.

BOOM

The shield shattered, generating a massive explosion, engulfing everything in a fifty-kilometre radius. Once the dust settled, Deoxys was seen lying lifelessly on the floor. The right side of its body has been completely pulverised, and the Pokemon struggled to stay in consciousness.

Using its remaining limb, it pushed against the ground and glanced at the green gem below Deoxys's chest. Thankfully, the child survived but was heavily injured as cracks appeared on its crystal core.

'I will... I will buy you time to escape...' Deoxys groaned and lifted the gem using Psychic.

The green crystal voiced its displeasure, wishing to stay. Deoxys chuckled and poked the core tenderly: 'M... My child, I have been in this world for far too long... As long as you survived, that's all that matters.... Erase your presence so he won't come after you...'

Retracting all the energy back into its body, Deoxys prepared to generate the strongest teleport it could muster, bringing the gem as far away from Rayquaza as possible.

Knowing that by sending its child away, it would stay safe, Deoxys would use itself to distract the rampaging dragon: 'Live and explore the world as I have.'

'Goodbye...' Deoxys mumbled.

*Tap*

It was so sudden and out of the blue that it caught Deoxys off guard. A small tendril emerges from the crystal, pushing the alien backwards.

'What...' Deoxys uttered in shock as its concentration was broken: 'What are you d....'

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

Time seemed to have stopped as Deoxys's pupils trembled. A humongous Hyper Beam that was as bright as the sun striking the area it originally stood. The laser completely engulfed the area, and its child was caught in the centre.

'NO, NO, NO!'

Deoxys shrieked, throwing itself into the attack. Creating a shield using Protect, it crawled towards the centre, searching for the presence of its child. Finally, it spotted the crystal, completely shattered into thousands of tiny pieces, destroyed beyond recognition...

After travelling for so long, Deoxys learns many things about itself. Their race couldn't reproduce, a species born through the universe's miracles.

A finite race...

With that small effort, all the happiness and hope were destroyed before the Pokemon's eyes. All this time, it finally found another member of its race, and just like that, gone...

Mega Rayquaza loomed over Deoxys and smirked in victory. A new emotion swelled up inside Deoxys's soul as its eyes turned red. Anger, pain, frustration, and loneliness.

Deoxys felt all these swirling emotions in unison. Disappeared was its gentle and caring nature towards the world, but now it was a soulless monster that wanted to tear everything apart.

Rayquaza roared and smashed Deoxys across the land with another Hyper Beam, engulfing the Pokemon in a fiery explosion. However, to Rayquaza's surprise, Deoxys easily shrugged off the attack.

Deoxys clenched its fist and unleashed a distorted cry that echoed through the continents. It let out all of its despair into that howl. Without a second delay, Deoxys charged, and the battle will be forever recorded in history...
