Competition 4

The third round of the competition has finally come to an end. As usual, the students have been given time to rest before they could start with the fourth round.

After every round in the competition, Mr Andrew has made it one on his habit to check on Kiran, giving him words of encouragement and support.

Even though Kiran was getting annoyed every time Mr Andrew was checking on him, he didn't make it obvious as he continue to rest his head on the chair in front of him.

Knowing Mr Andrew for a long time, he could tell he was just trying to help him, but something inside of him was finding it annoying and he can't just put his finger into it.

Those previous time he was sick, he has never once interact with others apart from his family and friends, but now being in the mist of more than a hundred people was making him feel worst.

The twelve candidates which were participating in the third round has dwindled down to just six in the fourth round. While the thirty six number of questions has been taken down to twenty four.

The number of school which was eight in the third round has been taken down to just four.

The score on the screen was Brilliance high school and prosperous high school being equal with thirty points each and also the same number of candidates, two each.

While Excellent star was third in ranking with twenty five points and one candidate. While Exploit was fourth in ranking with twenty points and one candidate.

Just when Abigail was thinking of them winning the competition, her partner fell halfway as she couldn't get the answer to her question causing her to be eliminated.

The first person to pick a number was the boy from Prosperous high school.

After picking the number, he quickly ready herself to solve the question the moment it appear on the screen.

Having solve the question and calling out his number before the timer could reach zero, he waited patiently for the judge to call the result.

"That's correct master John, five points has been added to Prosperous High" said the judge.

The next person to go after John was Kiran. Picking his number, he opened his eyes which he has been keeping shut for quite some times now.

Looking at the question on the screen, he was finding it hard for him to read just like his previous time.

Using his hand to clean his face, he still wasn't able to read the question properly as his eyesight seems lost and worst.

Looking at the question every time, his eyes would like what was being hypnotize as he couldn't make a single word out of it.

"Come on Kiran, you have to get this right so we can win, I beg you" said Mr Andrew as he was praying in his mind.

The sound of the timer ticking could clearly be heard by Kiran, but he wasn't able to do anything as he let it continue ticking.

No way on Earth would he be able to answer the question when he can't read it. Although he could go for a guess, but he didn't as he know that he would fail anyway.

Hearing the sound of the timer ringing, Kiran close his eyes as he knew that he was out of the competition.

"You did good master Kiran, it isn't easy getting to the fourth round of this competition, you are eliminated" said the judge as he gesture for him to leave he podium.

Walking out of the podium, he quickly manage to locate a seat so he can sit down and prevent himself from falling.

"Kiran, what's happening?" Asked mr Andrew as he walked towards him.

Waiting for some minutes and still not getting any reply from him. Mr Andrew use his hand to touch his forehead and was surprise by how high his temperature was.

"Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling fine?" Asked Mr Andrew.

"I'm okay, you don't have to worry" reply Kiran.

"I should better call your mom right now" said mr Andrew as he brought his phone out.

"Don't, don't make her panic, I said I'm okay" said Kiran with gritted teeth as he look at Mr Andrew with a furious gaze.

Seeing the sight of Kiran, an unexpected cold creep up towards his spine causing him to shiver a little before dropping the phone back in his pocket.

Getting up from the seat he was sitting on, he walked towards the seat in the far end of the hall so no one could disturb him.

'Is he feeling angry about getting eliminated from the competition, Kiran if only you weren't sick right now, I'm sure you would have won it, I do trust you' said Mr Andrew inwardly as he look at the back of Kiran as he walk to the back of the hall.

The next person to pick a number was Abigail. The moment the question popped up on the screen, she quickly started solving it.

With four seconds left to spare, she quickly call out her answer and wait for the judge to call the result.

"That's correct miss Abigail, five points has been added to Excellence Star academy" said the judge.

Abigail jumped up in joy as she could see that her school points and that of brilliance high were now the same.

Reaching the turn of the candidate of exploit Valley, he picked his number but was unlucky as he wasn't able to solve for it, causing him to be eliminated.

Turning for the second time, it was now the turn of Lydia. She picked her number and quickly solve for the answer the moment the question appear on the screen.

Getting her answer, she called it out and waited for the judge to call the result.

"That's correct miss Lydia, five points to Brilliance High School" said the examiner.

Reaching the turn of the second candidate of Prosperous high school, she wasn't able to solve her question correctly, leading to her being eliminated.
