The ground trembled as claws and hooves smacked the ground as a Crimson gaurd group clashed with the horde. Fangs, claws, scales, and blood swirled across the field as the adrenaline filled roars of the towering rixis screamed in delight.
One male was slashing and punching anything around him with his allies nearby as a wave of bodies flowed towards and around him. He would receive a bite or scratch, but the pain was minimal as he ravaged his prey.
"Let the blood flow, brothers and sisters!"
He was going to continue his speech but received a large throat slash, which brought him down and caused him to choke on his own blood, his moment of pride costing him his life.
Such scenes happened across the tribes with the wave no matter how far into the past or future always taking something with it. But the benefit of having a civilization was being able to learn and plan in the future and pass on the knowledge they have gathered.
The wave was still good for the candidates who chose monster races since it was a great way to basically speed level their monsters. It also culled the weak and promoted strong evolutionary branches and strength for future generations.
Obviously, different races and candidates handled things their own way, but it was safe to say from the second day of mayhem. No one was going to be out again and would at most need some time to recover before getting back to work.
There could still be losses. However, since the race may not be in danger but it was possible to lose a strong leader of scholar. To civilizations, this would cause set backs that could hold them back years if not decades.
Now, looking at the wave not from the candidates or their races but from a slave of the wave itself. Currently, a 4 winged aqua coloured avian creature with a purple beak and grey claws flew over a tribe. Its orange eyes glanced at the ground below. From the corner of its vision, a sea of brown, black, and a multitude of other colours came swarming forward.
Once the wave reached the tribe the avian creature that watched this was called the brenock, swooped down, and picked up speed. Following its lead was a flock of other birds, lizards, and other creatures who nose dived into the tribe.
If you weren't careful during the wave, any number of things could come out and get you, that is why having a strong, thick roof was a useful shield to have even if the more suicidal creatures could still smash through and splattered onto the living room floor.
Those who didn't immediately die from the kamikaze dive would fly around, aiming for the eyes and throats of their enemies. A small bonus was that most of the creatures that could fly were small, but their more magical partners didn't follow those plans.
So in the future, we will be seeing more magical and bigger creatures coming through the wave. But the waves will always have regular old monsters and animals with normal spikes and claws.
In the realm of the gods or, more specifically, Jack's space in which he was chilling on his trusty leather throne. He was currently throwing Ven in the air while Van prodded him with a crystilazed elk horn.
"Will you stop that!"-Jack
"What you're letting Ven get her way? You're treating her like a kid!"-Van
"Liar, you're just jelly. Jack likes me more, and you're too heavy to be thrown in the air!"-Ven
"Nope, I'm just annoyed that our god of creativity is being treated like a child!"-Van
"I'm the cutest and cuddly god out there. It isn't Jack's fault he recognises greatness when he sees it!"-Ven
"Jack, please do tell me when you found this greatness I've heard of"-Van
"Why must you too constantly bicker haven't you got domains to run and control and followers to talk to and guide"-Jack
"Nope!-Ven and Van
While Jack messed around with the blues gods, he was thinking of the wave skill he would get that would apply to all his other races.
A skill like golden eyes was powerful, but it had its weakness and was restricted to one race. The racial skill or candidate skill was, on average, an easy answer, with candidate skills usually being more sought after.
Jack was trying to think of skills that would be useful throughout the ages from tribal age to the modern era instead of only one.
When it came to both races and civilizations, it came down to more than just intelligence or strength and became more naunced. It was quite funny for some viewers to see Jack mentally pulling his hair out worrying about the right answer. Other candidates seemed to have confidence no matter what they decided and trusted in their instinct.
It was quite easy to see that Jack was a worrier, but he always managed to skim by in the end. He struggled to focus on the now and always worried about the multiple enemies he had.
"It's quite strange to think I was laying in my room moaning about a charger, and now I'm a part of a pantheon of gods presiding over 2 intelligent races with more to come"-Jack
"I also have a new friend Nancy who is a loving mother and kind woman who I hope can leave this game and see her kids again"-Jack
"But I'll have to change to get what I want, and I'll have to become more comfortable with evolving with the situation"-Jack
"Very true, Jack, your mortal self will need to be stripped away from the bone itself to make way for something greater"-Minerva
"Well, it looks like I'm getting used to you sneaking up on me Minerva"-Jack
"That's a nice start, Jack, but I hope you keep that optimism in the future it's a rare thing to have in higher places"-Minerva
"It's all I truly have Minerva"-Jack
