Contract

There were many in the fields of alchemy, medicine and magic which had pursued eternal life and came out of it without rewards.

Many would waste most of their lifespan and resources in order to get closer to reach that goal but none had succeeded.

Those more daring had conducted all kinds of wicked experiments for the sake of the goal which harmed countless lives.

Emperors and kings alike who had all the power in the world still lacked one thing to keep their empires stable and long lasting, eternal life was the precious thing even those people with everything could not have no matter how much they wanted it.

Demons seemed to have eternal youth but they just had a longer life span than most life forms so many went to the demons seeking to gain an extension on their lives but were unable to extend it.

In the current year, the miracle herbs that could grant a person eternal life or the dragon balls had yet to be created or be discovered and many dangers surrounded them so for someone to seek them out required a strong and capable group to the same level as Master Roshi.

Blush had pursued eternal life in her previous life and she believed that her research had not failed, there was a minor miscalculation or error upon taking it but her current body was the result of it so she believed that she was the key to such a thing being possible.

She had repeatedly examined every detail of her body looking at her genetics through the use of her magic which had helped identify some differences with other humans but she had yet to identify a demons genetics.

Once she identified that then there was hope in seeing if her body had inherited anything from her soul passing into the dragon ball world into her current body.

Her advanced mental abilities were definitely gained from the research results but she had yet to identify if there was anything else which came with her soul that had bonded with her body so she was eager to find any differences from the humans and demons.

If there was then she would be able to identify the genetic markers for whatever had been gained then there was the research which would follow to replicate it in others while researching eternal life and other subjects by using many rare materials on earth or in the universe.

Calling upon the eternal dragon was like cheating and required no effort so Blush had been against it from the beginning since it removed any sort of feeling of accomplishment from the effort used to reach the conclusion.

The witch looked over the document silently then read out the terms of the contract. "Do not leak information about the coven or its members. Okay acceptable. Do not betray the coven or break the lawls of the coven. Work together and combine each others knowledge and magic to protect and ensure the stability of the coven. Wait.. what is this? Go on a group pilgrimage once every year? What is this for?"

Blush replied without any change in her expression. "As witches, it is better for us all to gain insights by exploring the world and gain insights of our own from various places. This pilgrimage is to experience the world and gain enlightenment along the way. There may be more difficult journeys which could help test ourselves and aim to improve our magic but I will leave that for later."

The witch nodded then sat back in thought. "Hmm…."

The idea was not bad for such a coven to operate out in the open and gain a respectable name which could cover up their identities while providing funds and materials for their own pursuits.

The witches could share their knowledge and expand upon it over a long time if it was successful then if they were one day exposed, they would have enough resources and money to be able to help them survive whatever happened next.

The witch and her disciples could seek shelter during the witch hunt and there were tools provided to help them avoid danger so the witch was considering it.

She let out a sigh then took out a pen, the sharp point of the pen poked onto her finger which drew blood for her to write on the document at the bottom of the page.

Two pens were placed down by Blush as she quietly looked towards the students. "They need to sign too."

The witch frowned. "I thought I only needed to sign?"

Blush shook her head. "Well.. it does not matter but it would be safer for everyone and there would be less suspicion on their heads once something bad happens so it is for the best. How about this then to prove my sincerity. I will tell you about myself a little more then hopefully you can trust in me more. You have signed now anyways so I have nothing to fear from telling you this."

The witch jumped back upon witnessing the change as the pink skin and pointy ears were revealed. "Demon!"

Blush let out a sigh as she showed her clear magic power unlike that of demon's dark energy. "I am only half demon to be exact and half human. I am not a part of either side but I am just trying to go my own path in life. So.. here is my story.. baby born of demon and human… testing miasma and compatibility in hybrids… tested by doctor… evil witch tried to kill me.. now living studying medicine and blacksmithing along with making all kinds of different tools using magic… now I am here extending my hand to the witches that I think will have less destructive lives and aim to pursue magic to a greater height and so on."

The witch listened quietly then spoke. "You are only fourteen years old but you have been through so much already… kids, come here and sign up."

One of them looked towards Blush with a little fear. "M..master are you sure you can trust her?"

The witch nodded. "She is not lying and I can see her magic is very pure. It is far purer than what other witches magic is like so I will put my faith in her. Without her then we may not be able to live for long anyways."

The two young girls pricked their fingers and signed their names then Blush did the same which caused the document to light up with pure magic which showed it had been completed.

"Whoah."

"So pretty."

Blush stood up and told them. "Pack anything important to bring with you and put those earrings on each of you. We will be leaving as soon as possible,"

The witch walked forward and shook Blush's hand. "Thank you Blush, for putting your faith in us and for taking this step to save our lives."

Blush felt a little embarrassed. "No need to thank me. Now we should hurry, we have one trip before heading back. By the way what is your speciality?"

The witch answered with a slightly embarrassed face. "Mostly medicines, poisons and potions but I can do a little sleep magic so I usually make money by treating people or dealing with people who have trouble sleeping."

The four of them went through the house and set up several things in preparation for the future attack while packing up anything useful.

Four figures changed shape with several bags on their backs which changed shape and size then they flew away into the night.

The two bigger birds slowed down a little to allow the smaller birds to catch up and not fall behind by too much.

The first target of the witch hunt had been recruited by Blush while another had been killed by her then four shape-shifted figures flew towards one of the other marked locations on the map.

The first official members of the coven and the Alchemi group had been put together while more were being searched for.
