Chapter 606: Meeting (Edited)

It was another weekend, and Fish and Harry woke up early to meet Ginny in the common room for their daily routine of practicing the Animagus Charm at dawn.

The only difference was that there was someone else in the common room this early morning.

"Hermione? What are you doing here?" Harry asked curiously.

And Fish jumped towards her, hugging her and rubbing against her cheek.

"You should know," Hermione said, narrowing her eyes and enjoying Fish's embrace before shrugging. "It's that thing I've been planning, and today Fish and I are finalizing the list with the other Prefects."

"Awesome!" Harry and Ginny cheered excitedly.

They were already tired of the Ministry-organized boring theoretical Defense Against the Dark Arts classes.

"Can we come too?" Ginny asked, and Harry looked at Hermione expectantly.

"Another time, today we're just going to go over the exact list and the overall framework," Hermione pondered for a moment, but then shook her head.

"Then can Fish go another time? Wait, I want to sleep a little..."

(Φω???)

And Fish said casually.

"No!" Hermione said with raised eyebrows and crossed arms. "Didn't you suggest this plan in the first place? How could you not be present at such a moment?"

"If I had known earlier, Fish wouldn't have reminded you, nya..."

Murmured Fish and walked up to the window, took out his wand, and started reciting the Animagus Charm.

After casting the spell, Fish still pouted, looking reluctant.

"How about this? You transform into your cat form, and I'll carry you," Hermione said, stepping back.

Immediately, Fish turned back into his cat form and jumped into Hermione's arms, settling down and falling asleep in Hermione's arms.

Hermione angrily looked at the lazy little cat in her arms, then couldn't help but pet him for a while, and then hugged him as they walked together through the portrait hole.

Once outside the dormitory, she carried Fish up to the sixth floor of the castle, in front of the statue of a bewildered wizard.

It was the statue of Boris the Mad, a wizard who, as the name implied, was so famous in the magical world that in this statue, he wore his gloves backwards.

Hermione, with Fish in her arms, approached the fourth door to the left of Boris the Mad's statue and said the password: "Lefty's chicken."

Since Fish had fallen in love with Chinese food, Hogwarts had added the names of many Chinese dishes to their password phrases.

The door creaked open, and Hermione entered.

Inside was a lavishly decorated bathroom, everything inside was made of white marble, and in the center of the bathroom was a large pool-like bathtub that sunk into the floor.

On the edge of the bathtub were a hundred golden faucets, each with a different colored gemstone on the handle. There was also a diving board.

White linen curtains hung from the windows like snow; in one corner, there was a pile of fluffy white towels, and the only thing on the wall was a painting in a golden frame of a blonde mermaid.

Fish was no stranger to this place, it was the Prefects' bathroom that only the Prefects and Quidditch team captains could use, but Fish had known it for a long time through the other Prefects and would come here occasionally to have some fun in the bath.

"Here you are, Hermione."

There were others waiting in the Prefects' bathroom, three different Prefects from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff of different years.

"I thought I said that only one person from each house would be enough." Hermione observed incredulously as the six Prefects ran towards her, fighting to be the first to pet the cat she held in her arms.

I should have known not to promise them that I would bring Fish here today...

Hermione didn't have to think twice to know why it was happening.

She slapped her forehead in annoyance and then warned in a serious voice, "If you're always so careless, our actions will be easily discovered, and then Fudge will have to issue a new educational decree!"

"Don't worry, Professor Sampson isn't as 'dedicated' as Umbridge, he's not interested in bothering us," Padma Patil said without looking up, "And it's early, there won't be any more students around. Look, we didn't even see a ghost on the way."

After getting along well during this period of time, basically everyone had discovered the personality of the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and he was much better than Umbridge...

To be precise, he had no presence at all, and the students only saw him in class.

At first, Hermione suspected that the other party was reducing their vigilance towards Fish, the attacker, and wanted to lure him back. However, after monitoring with the Marauder's Map for a while, she discovered that the other party was truly here just to teach, and nothing more.

"Besides," interjected the sixth-year Ravenclaw, "It's only a Prefects' meeting, so it doesn't matter if we get caught."

She winked, causing the other Prefects to giggle.

Due to their special status, they didn't receive much attention when they gathered to talk, and if it weren't for the significance of the day, they wouldn't even have to come to the Prefects' lavatory to discuss it.

"It's better to be cautious. After all, we don't know if someone in the school is actually a spy for the Ministry of Magic." Hermione's tone softened a bit, but she warned before redirecting the conversation to business, "Have you brought your lists?"

"Of course."

The Prefects, who had taken turns petting the cat, withdrew their satisfied hands and handed Hermione the lists their Houses had compiled, along with the class schedules for their respective years.

According to Hermione's request, the first members should preferably be from the seventh year, as the younger ones needed to learn a bit more theory first.

So the lists consisted mostly of fifth years and above, with a few fourth years and none below.

"When I return, I'll finalize the dates for the classes," Hermione said as she collected the lists and schedules, "And next time, it will be a meeting for anyone who wants to attend."

"When exactly is that? Where will the meeting be held? It can't be here, right? The Slytherin Prefects and Captains can also come," Hannah Abbott recalled.

Although she had initially been apprehensive about it, she had become more positive once the decision had been made.

"I've actually already decided on the meeting place," Hermione said, "But it's an important location, and I can't reveal it until the others have signed the pact, so make sure to make it clear when you notify the people on the list."

Hermione had already informed the Prefects that they had to sign a contract to attend the meeting, and they understood.

"I think it would be more appropriate for the next meeting to be in Hogsmeade. We can meet directly at Fish's house. It may take a bit longer to wait, but it will be safe and private."

The Prefects didn't raise any objections to Hermione's suggestion regarding the time and location, especially considering that there would be many people present and they were facing the Ministry of Magic, so they had to be careful.

Not to mention the fact that... they will also be visiting Fish's house.

After discussing the matter, the Prefects spent some time petting Fish before leaving the bathroom.

Only after Hermione took Fish back to the Gryffindor dormitory did Fish realize that...

"Fish didn't have to go with you just now!"
