Chapter 2: Prologue 2 – This should be fun!

Beyond the sturdy black door in the "waiting room", There is a corridor. If seen from above, this corridor would look like a rather blocky nail. As you make your way through the door, directly to the left you'll find a nook containing a water cooler, a counter with a coffee machine and a microwave on top, as well as a refrigerator. To the right, you'll find yet another nook. Instead of amenities, however, there is what can only be described as a service desk. The difference between this service desk and your average service desk is, the protective glass has smoke grey tinting. Behind the tinted glass, the silhouette of a woman is visible.

Past the 2 nooks, there is a long hallway that has a total of 17 doors. 8 on each side and 1 at the end of the hall. The 16 doors on the sides of the hall are spaced equally from each other. The 2 doors closest to the "waiting room" as well as the door at the end of the hallway are different in design from the remaining 14 doors.

The doors closest to the "waiting room" are both white in color with silver metal plates across the bottom of the door, as well as another smaller plate on the side of the door closest to the "waiting room". Next to each door is a sign that reads "Men" on the left side of the hallway and "Women" on the right. It doesn't take a genius to realize that these doors lead to restrooms.

The 14 remaining doors on the side of the hallway are identical in make to the door leading to the "waiting room". There is, however, a difference in design for each of these doors. At eye level for an average adult male, there is a gold Arabic numeral on each of the doors lining the hallway. Doors on the left have odd numbers. Doors on the right have even numbers.

At the end of the hall is the door with the most significant change in design. The door at the end of the hall is a set of double doors colored red. To the left of the door is a sign that reads: "Authorized personnel Only". The doors are about twice as tall as an average door and seem to be made out of rather heavy material.

The hallway is very quiet. The only sounds that can be heard are the calls from the woman to the occupants of the "waiting room", the occasional opening of a door, the instructions from the woman to those individuals who have been called, and the quiet footsteps of said individuals.

There is one peculiar thing, though.

No matter which door, no one ever returns through a door they have already entered.

In the room behind the door marked with number "13", a middle-aged man in a grey business suit, can be seen sitting casually at his desk, while flipping through a document.

"This is starting to get boring." He said after sighing. Everyone that walks through that door has the same cause of death... Hit by Truck-Sama"

After his final check of the paperwork, He set it down on the elegant desk in front of him. He picked up a stamp that read "Finalized" and stamped the document.

After stamping the document, the middle-aged man took a second to stretch his neck. He then placed the document on a stack of documents that seemed to be stamped with the same "Finalized" stamp. Afterward he scanned his never changing office space.

In front of him is a wooden desk. On top of this desk, to his right, a coffee cup and the aforementioned stack of finalized documents. On his left, a telephone that serves as an intercom as well as a stack of unstamped documents. Presumably those that haven't been tended to yet. Directly in front of him are a wireless keyboard and mouse. However, if you were to search the room, you would not find a computer with which the peripherals were connected.

On the other side of the desk, there is a luxurious leather arm chair. There is yet another wireless mouse placed in front of this arm chair. However, there is no accompanying keyboard.

At exactly the center between the 2 seats, there is a transparent screen that reaches to the ceiling of the office.

After his short break, the middle-aged man picks up the next unstamped document.

Taking a sip of coffee, he began reading through the document.

"Hmm... 35 years old? Kind of old for Truck-Sama, isn't he?"

"Unified light heavyweight boxing champion? Not bad... not bad..."

Suddenly the entire room began shaking as the man's eyes lit up. In this case, lit up isn't a metaphor. His eyes began glowing with a divine light.

"Wait... What? Truck-Sama was part of an assassination? The planned turned the cliché of getting hit while saving a girl or child into the assassination weapon? Brilliant!"

The middle-aged man's excitement continued rising.

"Let's see... Hobbies... Cooking, Sex, and... ANIME, MANGA, VIDEO GAMES, AND LIGHT NOVELS!?"

"You mean to tell me, this big, strong, human-shaped lethal weapon is an otaku. Oh, this is gold."

The middle-aged man had a truly child-like smile on his face. For such a long time, all of those he had seen had the same parameters. I.e., run over by Truck-Sama, between the ages of 15 and 17, virgin, NEET, Hikikomori, or both. The list isn't very long. To see someone that breaks the mold like this, the middle-aged man is ecstatic.

"Okay... Alright... This should be fun!" He said with obvious excitement in his voice.

Suddenly, 3 of the lights on his telephone lit up. These were the lights of the intercom feature. The three lights signaled that the occupants of the offices marked "11", "12", and "14" needed his attention.

Without hesitation, the middle-aged man pressed the button that would connect the offices in ascending numerical order. Starting each correspondence with, "This is 13, what can I do for you?" in a calm voice with excited undertones.

However, the responses weren't so uniform.

11: [Cutt that shit out. Your little flare up knocked my coffee cup off of my desk. I'm covered in coffee; you'd better cover my damn dry cleaning.]

12: [Have you lost your mind "13"? Because of your little outburst, my client's soul almost dispersed because of the sudden spike in divine pressure. If this happens again, I'm definitely reporting you.]

14: [Did something good happen? Tell me about it later over a drink!]

The middle-aged man, 13, had cold sweat running down his back because of the reactions from "11" and "12". However, his excitement returned when he heard "14's" reaction.

Pressing the button connected to office no. 14, "13" responded, "Definitely!"

After cutting the connection with "14", "13" took a few deep breathes to calm down. After reigning in his emotions, he pressed the button that connected to the woman sitting just outside of the "waiting room" and said, "Sonya, please send in Mr. James Warren."

So, here's Chapter 2. I'll be uploading one more. On a side note. I don't know how to change my Author name so this feels kinda awkward... Can anyone give me a hand?
