Chen, who had been thrown to the bookshelf by the owl who had held him by the shoulders, started to get up slowly. The impact didn't hurt him. However, the giant owl's claws had sank deeply into his shoulders.
"Look at what you have done to my library collection." Said Wang, the spirit of the knowledge that had been gathering knowledge from its birth.
"Why are you looking at me as if I used them as masturbation material," Chen said. He then raised his hands, aimed forward, and tried to release lightning. But nothing came out. Moreover, his arms felt so numb.
The owl, with a blank expression and a calm voice, said. "My fangs didn't just wound you randomly. I've severed your nerves. The chi won't flow in them for longer, and you won't be able to use your bending. As far as I know, most of the firebending technique includes the use of the hands."
"One simply can't underestimate the spirit of knowledge." Chen exhaled a sigh.
"I can render you paralysed before dawn." Said Tang. "If you cooperate with us and let us examine your memories, I'll promise that you won't be hurt. You would consider this offer. You, humans, are very fearful of the pain more than death."
"You talk too much, nobody has told you that." Chen said, "Alright. Since you gave me a good offer, I'll give you this instead. Seal the spirit world away from the material one, don't ever come back to bother me or my people, and I'll promise you that I won't destroy the whole spirit world."
Chen lifted his foot and stomped. A green fire circled around his foot. The fire climbed him, reaching his shoulders. It would only take a few seconds for him to heal his severed chi paths.
"No healing fire for you." The owl waved his giant wings as he flew toward the Dragon Avatar, generating a strong wind that pushed the fire away from Chen.
Lightning circling his body, Chen vanished. As the large owl appeared in Chen's initial spot, Chen appeared a floor above, his legs pushing against a bookshelf.
'He won't allow me to heal myself, guess I should use my skills that don't revolve around hands.' Chen's eyes turned red and blue, entering the Avatar state and gaining a boost in power.
The owl lifted his head as lightning circled Chen again. Just as Chen vanished, he appeared in front of the owl, fire around his legs. He then kicked forward. A grey flame getting out of his foot. Instead of getting off guard, the owl dodged and kicked. Chen jumped backwards, getting a wound on his chest.
Chen opened his eyes widely and looked at the owl. How the fuck did this happen? The owl should have been caught off guard.
He felt it was ridiculous that he could handle gigantic ancient spirits, but not a 10 ft tall owl.
"Your movement is too fast, and too linear. So predictable." Wang Shi Tong said. "Don't forget that I'm Wang Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things."
'Damn, he's too fast.' Chen looked at the owl, and he gritted his teeth.
<<He is very knowledgeable. He just severed a vein. You're bleeding. You have ten minutes or so until you die>> echoed the dragon's voice.
Chen opened the system. "Guess I'll only the dragon's physique then." His eyes went completely red, and his muscles tensed. He opened the system, and he poured all of his accumulated experience into one skill.
[Ding. Physical Fight up to level 17]
He was left with zero experience points.
Chen could get the new levels in his mind subconsciously. It allowed him to use them as if he trained for years.
He gained new footwork, punching techniques, and choking techniques. 'Thanks to Asami teaching me that skill.'
Circling the Chi in his body, he stopped the bleeding in his chest and shoulders. "Come on." A red aura circled around his body, and his muscles grew bigger. His physical power increased five times or so, and so did his speed.
"What did you just do." Said the owl.
Chen took a fighting stance, stretching his left hand forward.
"I know Kung Fu."
Chen closed his eyes, activating his extra senses.
The owl vanished from his spot, appearing in front of Chen at a high speed. Chen didn't react. It was just an afterimage created by the owl. Instead, he backflipped and kicked backwards. His foot landed on the owl's face, sending him gliding a few meters back.
Just as Chen landed on his foot, he vanished, leaving a fading afterimage. The owl stood on one foot and circled, waving his very sharp claws. Chen tilted his head and extended his hand. He held the owl's large foot from the base, stopping his momentum. He then lifted the owl and slammed him to the ground, making the current floor of the library crumble. They started falling.
"Stop clinging to my foot." The owl waved its wings, flying up and trying to shake Chen away.
"Stop getting into my daily life." Chen opened his mouth and tried to
"I've just severed a chi path to your chest. Do you think I don't know you breathe fire?" Said the owl, kicking Chen toward a bookshelf.
Wang pulled his leg while lifting a Chen, before kicking forward.
A large claw headed in the sound speed toward Chen's eyes, threatening to pierce them and get inside the brain.
His heart skipped a beat, and Chen tilted his head back. The claws stopped between his teeth.
"Then I'll use a skill that doesn't require my hands nor mouth. Just manipulating my Chi's attribute."
The Chi circling in his stomach started separating into two types. One is positive, which formed the core. The other was negative.
Chen's body glowed up in a blue colour. Lightning danced around his body, circling and getting into Wang's body, electrocuting the owl.
The black feather started flying everywhere away from the spirit of knowledge. The smell of a cooked chicken filled the library.
Both the man and the spirit fell. Chen's body took a harsh fall, while the owl was barely able to hold his consciousness.
"Winner Chicken Dinner." Chen raised his fist, exhaling a groan in pain.
Chen felt the dragon spirit trying to leave his body.
"Don't try body. That would only work when I'm out of Chi, mine, not yours." He chuckled. "Besides, I know the counter measurement."
Upon hearing his words, the dragon's energy that was trying to leave him became stable.
'That's better.' Chen tried to sit up. But his body was aching in pain. Do you know the pain of getting stabbed by a knife, just in the flesh? If you know it, then Chen felt like having 6 knives on his shoulders. He activated the lightning armour, before absorbing it and turning it into a pure Chi. He then raised his leg. A golden fire spread from it and crawled on his body. After some time, the resurrection flame fixed his body as if no damage had been done.
Chen closed his eyes, scanning his surroundings. Amon, Tarrlok, and Kuvira were doing very well against the spirit of the sun. Kuvira was attacking while Amon and Tarrlok used their bloodbending to paralyse the spirit of the sun and redirect his attacks. However, the fire was spreading everywhere.
Chen stood up, leaving the owl struggling to breathe.
He continued his way to the lowest of the library, to the base. There was a door here that lead outside.
If Chen wanted, he could go to the spirit world through that door.
Instead, he went to the middle. There was a shiny blue core, covered in glass. Chen assumed that this is what links the spirit world and the material one.

Meanwhile, outside. Korra, Lin, and Asami who had been waiting for Zaheer to appear turned their heads.
The head of the mini tower started sinking into the sand.
"Chen is inside." Korra extended her hands forward, trying to stop the sand from swallowing the library. Lin tried to help her. Asami, on the other hand, opened her eyes widely.
The library, however, continued sinking despite the avatar and the earthbender's efforts.
Raava, all of the sudden, appeared on Korra's chest. "It's useless. He'd sealed the core of the library."
"Hold on. What do you mean?" Asami held Korra by the collar and shook her.
Korra shook her head. "I'm just as confused as you are?"
Raava talked from Korra's chest. "Chen had known that when he seals the library, he would be trapped in the spirit world. Since I noticed that Chen noticed but Korra didn't, I decided to respect his wishes. I've never thought that such a human exists ever since Wan."
"You said what?" Asami opened her eyes widely at Raava.
"At least you should respect his wishes."
"How did you know that Chen knew!" Asami replied to the spirit. "He may have thought that he would be here and stop the spirits from coming! Are you an idiot? You never specified!"
"So that's why he did it?" Lin opened her eyes widely.
"What do you mean?" Korra asked.
"He trolled me with my family issues and acted as if he was in no trouble," Lin said. "He then took Tarrlok and Amon. I never understood why he would allow such criminals freedom. I don't know about Kuvira. But it seems that he's planned all this along." She put a hand on her face.
