After having dinner together with dishes obtained from the results of the hunt that Gideon and Victor did, Jacob suddenly said something very serious.
He said that Phantom sent them a message from someone who came from a village located quite far from there, the village was called Cadaverial.
He explained that a precarious situation was happening in the village because of the bloody terror spread by the evil spirit of a horseman knight who rose from the dead.
It was said that every night throughout the fall the horseman would come to take revenge and slaughter the residents there.
In addition to that, the situation they face is increasingly complicated because in addition to having to deal with the terror of the horseman knight they also have to survive the attacks of the undead army which reportedly cannot be killed with any weaponry.
Jacob explained that he remembered a white witch in his hometown once said that there was a metal ore that could destroy all forms of evil spirit power, the metal was called Purgatorite.
It is said that the rare metal comes from the mountains located at the eastern end of the Lacrimosgoth land.
Jacob added that if referring to the geographical location based on the plan of the Lacrimosgoth mainland, the easternmost region in Lacrimosgoth is Helberg and the place in question is most likely the Eclipsia mountain range.
So he concluded that they should be not too far from the location where they could find the metal ore.
They then agreed to schedule a trip to search for Purgatorite ore in the mountainous region.
Jacob, however, chose to go in search of the material alone and asked his three comrades to remain in Helberg in anticipation of a follow-up attack that could come at any time.
Initially, his three comrades objected to Jacob's wish, but Jacob continued to assure them that he would be fine and would soon return with the material in question.
After the long negotiations, Castor, Gideon and Agatha finally reluctantly agreed to their comrade's will.
Suddenly Victor, who was not involved in the negotiations, begged them to allow him to come with Jacob because he was waiting to embark on an adventure, he was looking forward to starting his great adventure and becoming a great knight in the future.
Initially the four of them did not allow Victor to come to the location because they were worried about his safety.
But after considering Victor's sincerity, they finally gave him permission to join Jacob on the condition that he had to train harder first for the next two days.
Victor, who looked happy to hear that, immediately expressed his gratitude for believing in him, he promised to be serious in practicing.
In a short two days of training under Castor's guidance, Victor's great potential began to show, as he quickly mastered the basic techniques of sword and archery.
In fact, Victor had become so adept at using these weapons in combat and hunting practice that the four of them were amazed by the boy's rapid development.
The day of the journey to the Eclipsia mountains arrived, and early in the morning Victor went to his mother's grave before setting off.
Afterward, he returned home eager to prepare for the first adventure he had been waiting for.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Jacob asked Victor just before they set off.
"Of course, I will hold tight to my determination to become a great knight too.", Victor replied excitedly.
"Victor, always be careful, take care of yourself kid.", Agatha said.
"I think you will need this.", Castor said to Victor as he held out his bow and some arrows to Victor.
"Thanks, we'll be right back with as much Purgatorite as we can.", Victor said to Castor and Agatha.
Castor rubbed Victor's head, Agatha hugged the boy so warmly like a mother to her beloved son, then the two of them departed.
Elsewhere Gideon, who was not at Victor's house, was apparently in the village courtyard and was playing with the girls, he also showed off his skills in throwing knives to attract the attention of the girls.
"Alright ladies, take a good look and don't blink!", said Gideon with his eyes covered by a piece of cloth and several sharp knives in his hand.
"What if you miss and the knife hits us?", asked a woman who placed an apple on her head along with several other women who did the same.
"So, let me reiterate, in this case I will never fail, but if my throw misses and hits you then it is better if I plunge this dagger into my own heart than I have to see angels as beautiful as you get hurt!", Gideon teased the women.
Gideon signaled them to get ready and started counting down, he threw the knives simultaneously and they hit every apple that the women placed on their heads as targets.
Witnessing Gideon's prowess suddenly the beautiful girls were amazed and mesmerized by him, they began to think that Gideon was an interesting man.
Jacob and Victor had passed through the main gate of the village and both were outside.
A few meters from the mouth of the village gate Jacob opened the map he was carrying to estimate the shortcut to the Eclipsia mountains.
After a few moments of estimation, he finally concluded that the fastest route to the Eclipsia mountains was through the forest to the east of Helberg.
He said so and immediately invited Victor to hurry along that route.
Victor, who initially felt a little reluctant to take that route, finally spoke up.
He accidentally told something that Gideon had previously asked him not to tell his other colleagues.
Victor accidentally told the story of when he and Gideon were desperate to enter the forest to hunt until they finally had to deal with Fendragnir the forest guardian.
"Oh my!", said Victor after realizing that he had spoken.
"I knew it before.", Jacob said while holding his forehead with a facial expression that seemed to be unable to understand Gideon's behavior.
Jacob quite easily convinced Victor to follow him through the route because their goal of crossing the forest was just to pass by and not the slightest intention to disturb the forest dwellers.
In the middle of their journey, Victor suddenly asked about Vincent's personality during their time together in the Light Scourge group.
Suddenly it surprised Jacob a little because he thought Victor didn't know about his father who had been part of the Light Scourge group and none of his comrades had told Victor about it.
"This must be Gideon's doing...", Jacob said in his mind.
While exhaling a long breath Jacob said that it was really complicated for him to explain to Victor who was still young.
Feeling that he no longer needed to keep it a secret from Victor, he decided to explain every single thing he remembered about Vincent to Victor who looked curious.
Jacob explained that Vincent was a comrade in arms as well as a great mentor for the four of them.
In addition, they knew Vincent as a good and wise man in making decisions on the course of every mission they took.
Jacob personally admired Vincent and even made him a role model.
He also told them about their last meeting with Vincent when they were on a mission in Crimsonhaze village a few years ago.
Vincent, who at that time had declared his retirement from the Light Scourge and decided to settle in Helberg to start his new life after his marriage to Eleanor, suddenly appeared to help those who were in distress by bringing unexpected reinforcements.
The four of them were very confused by what happened at that time and after the mission was completed Vincent suddenly disappeared somewhere.
Initially the four of them thought that Vincent had returned to Helberg, but when they came to Helberg after receiving the message Vincent sent them they did not find their old friend.
Their confusion was compounded when Victor, the biological son of their old friend, explained that his father had left the village a long time ago.
However, Jacob believes that Vincent has a wise reason for this and that what Vincent has done must be for a good cause.
Victor, who seemed emotional listening to what Jacob had explained, also wanted to send a rebuttal.
But before he could do it, Jacob suddenly signaled to immediately stop their steps.
In a low voice Jacob warned Victor to be more vigilant, because he felt like something had been following and watching them.
Victor suspected that it was Fendragnir the land dragon guarding the forbidden forest, so Jacob also asked Victor to hurry back while keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings, because unexpected dangers might be lurking.
Elsewhere in Helberg, Gideon, who was still busy playing with the girls in the village courtyard, suddenly got a snowball thrown right into his face.
Instantly the girls who surrounded him were shocked, in front of them stood Agatha who was girded at the waist and staring at Gideon sharply.
"Sorry, excuse me ladies, we will continue this another time", Gideon said to the girls while looking at Agatha who continued to stare at him.
"Oh come on, can't you stop playing around in situations like this? We don't have much time for this!", Agatha told Gideon.
"Hmmm..., well, what should we do now?", Gideon asked Agatha with a smile and a mischievous expression.
"Now we must quickly find the best blacksmiths in the village to help us make weapons while we wait for Jacob and Victor to arrive!", Agatha replied.
"Well, it looks like they can help us a bit.", Gideon said to Agatha while looking at the girls who were still there looking at Gideon.
Gideon approached them again and asked them to help him find the best blacksmiths in Helberg, the girls happily complied with his request and then they left.
"Ladies! I'll see you later!", Gideon shouted to the girls, the five of them laughed happily at Gideon's words.
One of the girls was seen pecking Gideon on the lips from a distance, Gideon replied with a flirtatious wink.
Agatha, who was increasingly out of her mind with her partner's behavior, could only hold her forehead while shaking her head.
Not long after, the two of them left there to find information about the best blacksmiths in Helberg.
