I Have A System, Why Do I Have To Work Hard!?

Year X333, March 18.

It was chaos.

The sky turned red as if it was dyed in blood. The heavens roared as the earth shattered. Mountains rose and flattened, and the sea boiled and rage.

It is the scene that many people have imagined but never thought would come; the end of the world.

That's not the worst.

Just as mankind thought that the world already threw its worst, cracks started appearing in space and monsters thought to be only in fiction came pouring out and started a slaughter fest.

Humanity who stood at the top of the food chain quickly fell to the bottom and became prey.

Even modern weaponry was rendered useless as the world seems to be restricting them, forcing humanity to use cold weapons.

10 billion humans became 9 billion, and that 9 billion became 8 billion, and eventually only a hundred million of them were left.

Out of seven continents, only one was left as the rest were conquered by the monsters.

Humanity was forced to flee to the smallest continent "Orion" and swore to defend it with all their lives.

But the monsters were just too strong and humanity was cornered and could only wait to be slaughtered.

And right when Humanity thought that they were about to go extinct, a man wielding extraordinary powers came in and led them to battle against the monsters.

The man who was known as Alexander Silva, Humanity's Hero, possessed strength beyond imagination. He crushed monsters with nothing but his fists and took hits that could flatten mountains with his flesh.

With him, humanity took their very first victory against the monsters which they called; Grimms.

Later he had revealed the reason of his strength.

There are ten spirit nodes in human body; Keter, Chokmah, Binah, Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malkuth.

These nodes were locked due to the Spirit Energy of Broken Star Realm being dried up, but with the appearance of the Space Cracks, Spirit Energy came and revitalized the world, and caused the locked Spirit Nodes to show signs of opening.

One only needs to absorb Spirit Energy and flood those nodes with those energy to open them. Doing so would break the limitations of a human body and would allow them to have power only seen in fantasy.

As for how to absorb Spirit Energy, well, it only requires a set of breathing techniques to help circulate Spirit Energy inside one's body.

Of course, ordinary breathing techniques won't work, and according to Alexander, he managed to learn this special breathing technique by pure and utter luck.

Alexander was actually someone who luckily survived an attack of the Grimms that destroyed the city where he lives.

Determined to survive, he dragged his injured and broken body away from the ruined city, but he was unlucky as a gigantic bird grabbed him.

Desperate for his survival, Alexander mustered a strength to escape the clutches of the bird, causing him to fall down.

Thankfully, he didn't fall from a high place and he managed to survive. He fell on a cave in a middle of a forest. He was happy for a moment as he finally have some shelter.

His joy didn't last long however, when he saw an enormous black dragon sleeping peacefully in the cave.

His breath halted as he didn't dare move even a little bit for fear of waking up the dragon.

Time passed, and unconsciously, Alexander has started to mimic the breathing of the dragon and unknowingly started to absorb Spirit Energy as well.

Eventually, he felt something inside him seems to have opened and he definitely feel like he was reborn. He soon realize that his injuries were healed and that he obtained strength comparable to a certain captain from a certain movie.

He thought of what he did before and remembered the dragon's breathing that he mimicked.

Deciding to do it again, he soon realize that his strength was steadily growing.

Eventually, he became confident of his strength and went on a journey to find the rest of Humanity, where he found them cornered and was about to be annihilated by the Grimms.

Alexander spread the "Breathing Technique" to the populace, but none of them were as powerful as the one Alexander, it was theorized that maybe they weren't as compatible as Alexander with the Breathing Technique.

And it didn't take long for them to make their variations of it. There were some powerful breathing techniques that were made, but none came close to matching Alexander's "Sleeping Dragon Method".

With a newfound strength, Humanity fought back and pushed the Grimms to flee to other continents and they regained control of the entire Orion Continent.

After years of continuous research about this breathing method and the energy they are absorbing they discovered that these nodes differ in quality; they rated it from lowest Bronze, Silver, and Gold, which is the highest. The higher quality nodes, the faster they can absorb the energy.

Then, this research eventually lead to the discovery of "attributes". There are three attributes known to them, the Beast Type, Elemental Type, and Weapon Type.

It has been discovered that a person is more compatible to a breathing method related to their attribute. Like someone with a snake attribute is more compatible to a breathing method related to snake.

The attributes also differs in quality and the humans rated them from Common, which is the lowest, followed by Rare, and lastly the Legend, which is the highest.

Which brings us to the present...

800 years after the apocalypse, and humanity once again flourished. They managed to remake some modern technology such as cars and computers, but research in modern weaponry was stopped as the world seems to restrict their existence, making them unusable.

Humanity built five huge empires and dozens of kingdoms. The continent was divided into five different regions where each of the five were located.

Rising Sun Empire in the Eastern Region, Snow Wind Empire in the Northern Region, Sky Cloud Empire in the Western Region, Falling Earth Empire in the Southern Region, and lastly the strongest Dragon Lair Empire in the Central Region.

Each of the five empire was established by five greatest Heroes of mankind with the Dragon Lair Empire founded by Alexander Silva being the strongest and largest of all.

The kingdoms under them were founded by first generation "Awakened" as well.

During these 800 years, the Empires all made an attempt to recapture the other continents again and again to no avail. The best they could do was establish a stronghold which were always in risk of being destroyed by stronger Grimms.

Now...

The story starts, inside the most prestigious academy in the Sky Cloud Empire.
