Chapter 95: Double Sike

Cordelia POV

As I trudged through the forest, I found 2 more, one in an owl's nest and the other slightly buried through the ground and can only be found by a glint when you shine the flashlight on it.

But currently, I'm hiding as I can see a group of 3 students that are probably from another class, I see one of them also holding the same dull bad and all have something weighing down in their pouch for the golden nugget.

Judging from their strengths, it's not impossible for me to take them down in a head on fight with all of them, but I need to have my strength saved in case I meet anymore adversary on my way back.

So I slowly started to retreat, but as I do, I can see a shadow spirit looking and readying himself for another group. I'm pinned! I don't want to get spotted by either group.

So I gather up rocks and used magic to strengthen myself, i then threw it at the group of 3 students and one more at the mercenary before ducking back down and crawled away. The mercenary dodged it, but I didn't really aim for him, only the giant boulder next to the tree he's hiding behind.

That made a large enough noise that both the group of students noticed each other from afar and by focusing on each other, they also noticed the small presence of the mercenary.

I then hid quite a distance away where I'll just act like a vulture later after they beat each other, I'll take them while they're down.

Perseus POV

"Man, I wanted to join the battle royale style training." I sighed as I looked at the training schedule Craig handed to me.

Eleanor is currently watching and listening to Valentina who is handling all her affairs safely in the safehouse and having me guard her for a while. After they finished, they just went to watch TV and now that no servants are around, they are using this opportunity to watch shows that they're not allowed to watch.

Like this show about a bald guy and some drugs or that show with a helmet guy that has a dark past causing him to kill goblins, which is somehow the most popular show amongst the goblins and the hobgoblins themselves, as for why, i don't know!

"Perseus, join us, this is what commoners say 'Netflix and chill'? Why are you giving me a weird look?" Valentina asked

"That's not what it means...Valentina, I found it out the hard way when I invited Emma over before, I thought that it meant what it is in the literal sense and she was mad that I left her expecting."

"Expecting what?" she questioned as I whispered to her ears as Eleanor is distracted.

"Oh...no wonder she was mad." she coughed.

After dinner, I let them sleep in the 2 bedroom my small safehouse have which is meant for me and my sister. I then lay on the couch for the night as I scroll through my phone, I later heard a door creaked open and see that Valentina approached me.

"Why are you up? It's 10 pm, your people can handle the work even if you choose to not contribute."

Yes, the 2 royalties sleep early, they got super strict schedules.

"Why are you scrolling through the internet watching...murder documentaries?" she asked as she crouched next to me "I could have slept with my daughter and let you have your room, you know."

"You're the queen and princess, and also my guests, so I have to treat you right."

"Come sleep with me." she offered "The bed may be small since it's a safehouse and not for luxury, but it should be more than enough to fit the both of us."

"This couch can fold into a bed, I'm just not sleepy yet."

"Then I will abuse my authority and ask you to come warm my bed for me." she chuckled

"Abuse of power or not, that is one where I can decline." I replied as I turned to my phone.

She then leaned in closer where I can feel her breath against my ear.

"This is an invitation, you know..." she whispered "I have 2 places that needs to be filled by your attention. My daughter is asleep too, if you're scared, you can just use sound magic to make sure we're not caught."

Ah that was a dream. Well sike...I guess.

Double sike, it was real, Valentina is inviting me for some activity where we all know too well, I can be a sensible man and accept the invitation or be a gentleman and reject the offer and make you all groan and complain at my stupid answers saying that I would regret it later.

"Besides, you're not exclusive to anyone, right?" she continued "I can handle you, you know, I'm very strong and durable...I can handle your bi-"

"Alright, stop before your daughter walks in and hear this."

I got up and when we got into the room, she pulled me towards the bed and you can guess how the night went, unlike you maidenless readers, I don't refuse an invitation like this from a very beautiful wo-...oh right, you never even got even a subtle hint of person liking you in your entire life.

Cordelia POV

I wonder what Perseus is doing, knowing him, he's probably gonna stay up all night to make sure they're okay.

Anyway, back to me, the fight went on for a while, I can sense that some others heard the noise and arrived at the scene as well, and they all bolted for the gold at the same time, and anther fight pursue.

As the second group is fighting, I focused everything on my speed and agility and instead of waiting till the end this time, I rushed in, they didn't expect that, i then gathered all the gold pouches I can, but instead keeping them, I threw a bunch of them with all my strength in different directions and spread them all around.

I got only a couple more on me, I can sense a few students on my tail so I dropped all of the ones in my and run away. Once I know I'm safe, I took out the ones that I managed to hide in my chest earlier, I may not be big, but it's good enough to hid some things, I counted 7 in total, 3 more to find my professors, this activity might take all night.
