THE WEDDING

The wedding was scheduled to begin in the evening. Apparently the wolves don't get married early, they get married in the evening when the moon goddess was going to witness it. I had ask about this moon goddess they talk so much about and if she was an actual person and was going to come to the wedding. But Yasmin had laughed and told me the moon goddess will come in form of a moon.

The moon goddess always comes in form of a blue moon to witness the joining of the two souls before she retreats back to her kingdom among the clouds and stars.

I thought the whole moon goddess thing was absurd, I mean a blue moon? But Yasmin had told me that there are some things that I don't understand but will make sense to me after the wedding. Everyone have been preparing for the wedding since yesterday.

The servants have been cleaning the castle, I saw some new chefs that had been brought in to prepare food for the guests and also Madame Cordelia have been busy trying to sew the multiple orders of clothes she had gotten for the wedding.

It was almost time for the wedding and guests had started to arrive. Outside my window, I could see the various carriages of the guests arriving. I could also see the crests of various kingdoms on some of the carriage. Royals from all over the country were going to be visiting, they were all here to witness the human marrying the werewolf king.

I turned to look back at my wedding dress that was in the corner of my room. It was a green long sleeved off the shoulder full dress. The sleeves and the front of the dress had gold embroidery. I was a little surprised when Raya and Stanley had brought in the dress yesterday. I asked why they brought in a green dress but they had bowed and told me the alpha had requested this dress to be chosen for me.

The dress was very beautiful no doubt and I was a little touched by the fact that Ivan specifically chose this dress for me. But I was also a little bit concerned about the fact I haven't seen Ivan ever since that moment we shared in the room. I didn't see him at dinner that night or at breakfast the next morning. I haven't laid eyes on him since then and this morning too, it was like he was avoiding me or something.

But he can't avoid seeing me today, we were getting married after all, I muse as I watched more guests arrive from my window.

A knock on my door disturbed my thoughts. I turned only to find Yasmin along with two other girls. I recognized them as the girls who had been tending to me on my first day here. I also knew their names, Faye and Esme. Each of them were also carrying baskets that contained things that would get me ready for the wedding.

"We are here to get you ready for your wedding Lady Arianne." Yasmin bowed at me along with the other girls.

I arched a brow up at her formality but I understood what she was doing. I stood up from my chair and Faye and Esme came to undress me while Yasmin went to start my bath. I walked into the bathroom where the tub was already filled with hot water. I lowered myself to the tub and sat down as Yasmin began to wash my body and my hair.

They made sure I was thoroughly clean before I stepped out of the bath. Next they oiled my body with some sweet smelling oil. I was given clean undergarments and then I wore the white corset. It wasn't as tight as before and I can easily breathe in it now. I was then sat in front of the mirror and the maids immediately began working on my hair.

They twisted and piled it up above my head, adorning it with several beautiful pins and flowers. Yasmin then moved to do my makeup. She made sure my face was perfect. She carefully carved my eyebrows with a pencil and she used Kohl to line my eyelids, making the colour of my eyes really pop out. She painted my lips a deep shade of red, making it look full and plump.

When she was done with my makeup Yasmin signalled for my dress to be brought. I then stood up as the maids helped me with the dress. As soon as they finished dressing me, I turned to look at myself in the mirror.

I let out a soft gasp as I took in my reflection, I looked different but it was the good kind of different, I looked really beautiful, I thought to myself with a small smile.

"You ready?" Yasmin asked me softly and I raised my eyes up to hers.

I gave a small smile and nodded my head in response. Yasmin gave me a smile of hers before she went to fetch my veil. Faye and Esme adorned me with golden jewelries which were filled with emerald stones. After they were done, the green veil which also had gold embroideries around the edges was then draped over my head, it was time!I was led away from my room and led down the hallways and the stairs till I was finally outside the castle.

Once I was outside, I raised my head to look up at the sky. The moon was out and it was light blue in colour. The moon goddess was indeed our tonight! I thought to myself in awe. Yasmin carefully took my arm as she led me into the woods which was already filled with white petals and lanterns to lead the way.

I could see the seated guests from afar, all of them watching and waiting, for me. Once we got closer, Yasmin and the other maids left me and went to go find their seats, leaving me to continue my journey alone.

Okay! I can do this! I can definitely do this! Remember your training, head raised high, shoulders straightened and light foot steps. With that thought in my mind, I proceeded to walk down the aisle. I kept my gaze on the alter where I could see Ivan waiting for me.

He was dressed in a green suit, a more deeper shade than mind. His long hair was pinned to the back, not a strand out of place, revealing his sharp cheek bones. I actually like it a lot better when his hair was down but he still looked handsome. So handsome, my heart raced just from looking at him.

I placed my focus on Ivan till I made it to the alter and I didn't trip at all! Ivan took my hand and I could feel the spark of electricity that passed between us. Ivan must have felt it too because he arched a brow up at me but I didn't say anything instead I focused on the priestess in front of us who had already begun the ceremony.

The priestess was a middle aged woman with dark skin. She had long twisted locs which she adorned with white beaded crystals. She looked beautiful with her full dark eyebrows and brown eyes. On her button nose was a medium sized circle golden earring. She was dressed in a white gown that went all the way to her legs and on her waist was a golden belt with a crescent moon on the middle.

I was still staring at the belt when Ivan squeezed my hand lightly. I looked up only to see that the priestess had finished and it was time for our vows. Two servants stepped forward carrying a small white pillow which contained small daggers.

This was my least favourite part of the ceremony, I thought to myself as I eyed the knives warily. Why must we cut our hands to seal the marriage when we could just kiss like normal people do in weddings?

The priestess must have sensed my hesitation because she cleared her throat. I looked up only to find her looking at me with a arched brow. Taking a small deep breath, I reached for the dagger then turned to face Ivan who had already picked up his own dagger. Then at once we both drew the dagger across our palm. I resisted the urge to wince as crimson red flowed from the cut on my palm.

The priestess then began saying the words. "Bounded by the moon now_"

We repeated after her as Ivan and I joined our bloodied hands together. "Now bounded by blood, I hereby take you to be my mate, to love and protect you as long as I live and breath." We finished as we stared deep into each others eyes.

With that we turned to face the guests who all rose up and all at once they raised their heads up to the sky and let out a loud howl into the night.

It was done! I was married and I have now become their queen!
