Chapter 24: The New Guy

"Alpha Raven, you accept my proposal without thinking at all. I'm the king, and I expect you to respect me, right? You don't want me to be disrespected by everyone, won't you?"

"Ugh! ohh, please! Just get out of my mind already. Besides, I did it only once, and it won't happen again," I replied angrily to him.

"I expect you to do that, my Queen," he replied, suddenly cutting off our mind link.

Bastard..

After I got dressed, I went downstairs. I tied my hair into a messy bun and grabbed my keys.

"Let's go, Sphere," I said to Sphere, lying on the truck's side and looking like he was texting someone.

"Okay, Alpha," he said as he got into the car's driver's seat and started maneuvering the truck carrying my bike.

While on the trip, I tried to think about what happened to me that night, but I could not remember what happened, no matter what I tried to guess.

Dammit, it! I should ask Stacey what is going on.

"Alpha, why are you so bothered?"

I glanced at Sphere and immediately averted my gaze and focused my eyes on the road.

"I'm not! I'm just wondering. Don't worry; all I have to do is cool my head first," I replied to him.

Silence again intervened between us until we entered the road out of the kingdom territory that the people now owned.

Sphere drove the car in a car shop that I had only just found out about. This shop is probably owned by humans based on the heavy scent of the mechanics working here.

"Do you know all the workers here, Sphere?" I asked him.

He smiled at me.

"Yes, and their services are top-notch, Alpha," he replied. "And their head mechanic is one of us," he replied as I put on the heavily tinted glasses. My eyes weren't a fan of sun rays. It could be because I have vampire blood. And something is ringing in my ears that makes me a little bit irritated.

We got out of the truck, and I saw a man approaching us wearing torn jeans and a checkered long sleeve shirt. His shirt isn't buttoned at all, that's why I can see him wearing a shirt that fits him, and his abs are so obvious. I'm not a fan of a male face, but I can say that this guy is handsome based on the drooling faces of female humans staring at him. Fortunately, I have glasses and more color. He didn't know I was looking at him. Well, being handsome can let everyone kneel on their knees. Male wolves are gorgeous no matter the clan. But I'm not affected at all.

"Hey, look what we have here," he said, smiling, before making a high five to Sphere.

"Spade," he said.

Sphere looked at me.

"This is my Alpha," he said, introducing me to the man.

"Greetings, Alpha. I'm proud to meet you, Alpha Claw finally. Sphere talks a lot about you." he said, bowing slightly to me.

My face moved in Sphere's direction.

"Sorry, Alpha, I couldn't stop my mouth when I speak," he replied, scratching his head.

I smiled at him.

"Nothing to feel sorry for, Sphere, but you two must be so close," I replied, smiling, slightly looking up.

"Alpha, this is Spade, my mechanic," Sphere told me.

"Nice to meet you, Spade. I hope you can fix my bike today?" I told him.

"Sure! Let me see, Alpha," he replied to me.

Sphere led him to the back part of the truck and removed the cover from my bike.

I heard Spade whistle.

"Wow! This is the latest bike that has been out for a few months. I heard only three models were made, and the company stopped creating them. This baby is freaking expensive," he said amazingly and then caressed the body of my bike.

"I know, right!! Alpha bought it right away as soon as she laid her eyes on them during the exhibition," Sphere replied. "Can you fix it?"

"What the hell, bro? Of course! I can! Please leave it to me. It'll be an honor to serve the Alpha," he said.

My eyes caught a glimpse of a coffee shop across the road. My head is still aching, and I want something to drink.

"You guys want some coffee?" I asked them.

"Nah! I'm good, Alpha. How about you, Spade?"

"I'd like to focus on fixing this baby. I think after I fix it. I'll appreciate one or two cups," he replied before getting the bike down from the car with his colleagues.

"Okay! I'll be just on the other side of the road," I replied to them before crossing and making sure there was no vehicle.

"Hey, Raven, what's up? Is there something wrong that you called me? Did you go home safely last night?" he asked me after answering my call.

"That's what I'm going to ask you. Where was I last night? I remember going to you, but I don't remember a single thing after that," I replied to her.

"Huh!" Confusion was evident in her tone. "I told you to go back home; did you forget it?" she questioned. "Yeah! I was being chased, but I made it back home safely. You told me that you stopped in some part of Tempest Forest. And you told me that you'd go home. Let me guess; you didn't go home, right?"

I sighed before sipping the coffee from the paper cup.

"My Beta and third in command found me inside the abandoned packhouse this morning and with a massive hangover. I thought I came into your bar last night," I replied to her. "I don't have any memories of when I woke up."

Stacey, on the other line, laughed loudly.

"Raven, we don't serve wolfsbane alcohol at my club. You know that, right?"

"Ugh!"

Yes, she is right. But where did I go last night?

"This is frustrating," I replied to him.

"Was it because it was a red moon last night? Maybe it has some effect on you?"

"I'm not a Lycan, idiot," I replied, laughing at her.

"But you also have wolf blood," he said knowingly while giggling on the other line. "By the way, Raven, can you come here later? I need you to discuss something. I risk my life for this information. Come here, and I'll tell you."

"My bikes' still under repair and-"

"You can come here using your car, idiot!" she said. "I got leads on your family murder case, plus I found something disturbing."

"You did?" I stood up nervously to what she said.

"Yeah, come here tonight. Mom will be here by morning. Come in the afternoon, so we have time to talk a lot."

"Alright, I'll be there," I replied to her before ending the call.
