[A few hours before the Hosu Massacre]
'Huft huft huft…'
Kazuya was panting hard as he tried his best to get his breathing into order. In front of him, were pieces of training mannequins that were cut evenly into different parts.
Currently, under Edgeshot's guidance, he's revisiting all of his previously established Super Moves to see if he could perfect them even further. For the past two hours, he's been practicing one of his more deadlier techniques, the Dimension Blade.
The loss of the red glow across the knives he's wielding marked his canceling of the technique. He wiped his arm across his forehead to clear it of any sweat as he took in a few breaths.
"Well done. You've lasted longer this time and you're getting faster in canceling and reapplying the technique." Edgeshot commented from the sidelines before nodding. "Go take a break. After this, we're going on patrol."
Kazuya nodded to the Pro Hero before going for the showers. This'll be their first official outing as interns of the Edgeshot Agency. It's been well over a week since internships began and they're finally gonna be taken into the field. He won't lie and say he's not both excited and nervous at the same time.
Soon enough, he found himself standing side by side with Midoriya in his hero costume. They and Edgeshot were all standing on the rooftop of the agency looking into the magnificent view of Korosanto Ward. Kazuya watched as the Pro Hero looked back at them and nodded before he folded himself and rocketed into the skies of the city.
He and Midoriya barely spared a glance at each other before they followed their teacher's wake.
Flashes of red and arcs of green lightning could be seen parading across the rooftops of Korosanto Ward; they were going on a spiral pattern with the agency as its center and starting point, aiming on covering Edgeshot's entire district in their patrol.
The hero himself was much further than the teen heroes. Always keeping a set distance between himself and his charges while straining his senses to his surroundings.
That was when he heard the commotion. Having stopped on a nearby rooftop, he ignored the sounds of his interns appearing behind him and opted to look into the bank robbery that is currently underway.
The robbers themselves have already finished their jobs, and are currently making their way towards the escape van parked on the other side of the bank.
Edgeshot just folded his arms behind his back and said in a calm voice. "Red Flash, Deku, Intercept."
Kazuya and Midoriya immediately heeded the order, as the former immediately teleported into the knife already embedded at the hood of the escape van while the former jumped forward, landing right in front of the robbers.
Both heroes took a second to study the villains in front of them. There were 4 in total, with 2 looking like ordinary people and the other 2 somewhat unique. One had his entire body covered in solid rock while the other looked to be a bear-human hybrid. All of them carried larged bags that they could only assume were filled with piles of money.
"Heroes!" One of the human looking villains shouted.
"Calm down! They're just kids!" said the Bear.
"Boss, I think I recognize 'em! They're the U.A. brats from the Sports Festival!"
"What are- Urk!"
The villain's chatter was forced to end as the rock man found a tri-pronged knife sticking to his chest. The blade only sank to the tip and barely hurt the man in the process.
"Wha-"
The blade glowed red as suddenly, the rock man found himself buried under two tons of steel in the form of their escape van.
The rest of the villains couldn't stifle a response as Midoriya appeared in front of the bear hybrid and smashed a right fist onto the villain's gut that launched him a few meters away.
The rest of the villains however, didn't stay idle. One of them took aim and launched what seemed like spikes made of bone from his fingertips. Kazuya just stayed put and held up two knives. The one on his left hand was whipped towards each spike when it reached him while his other was aimed directly at the villain. The bone spikes found themselves absorbed towards the kunai and out the other, redirected towards the robber himself.
Kazuya made sure that he aimed it so no vital spots of the villain was hit from his own attack, this resulted in the villain being punctured all throughout his body. It was a testament to the villain's own weakness that the spikes barely penetrated an inch deep towards his skin.
Kazuya stood back to his full height and looked back towards the other remaining villain only to see him already subdued by Midoriya, the latter tying him up with some kind of rope.
The sound of folding paper entered their ears as a thin string fell into the street that immediately reformed into the number one hero.
"Well done, both of you. A clean takedown and adequate arrest. However…" Edgeshot trailed off as suddenly, the rock villain from before emerged as he threw the van off his body. He roared in anger before charging the three heroes.
"...You must make sure all the villains are subdued." Edgeshot continued before he flattened himself into a tight string and pierced into the rock villain's body and cut off the blood flow to his brain, incapacitating him.
He then reappeared among them, his signature eye smile back on as he faced the two students.
'Damn.' were the only thoughts of both Heroes-in-training.
Police officers soon came onto the scene to take the villains into custody. A perimeter was created around the street that was immediately crowded by civilians that heard Edgeshot was in the area. This resulted in most of the public finding out that the winner of the Sports Festival is currently interning with the Number 5 Pro Hero. Suffice to say, his popularity sky-rocketed. With him and Midoriya busting the Bank Robbery being considered their debut, they were on fast their way to becoming known heroes across Japan.
This will later be known as the very first incident that was resolved, by the Hero named Red Flash.

Kazuya was sitting on his bed in the assigned room of Edgeshot's agency, his back leaned against the frame. He had just returned from their patrol for the day and although tired, he still had some energy to spare.
This was the result of the week-long training he had with Edgeshot. The man just knew the best ways to train up stamina, especially after Kazuya explained just how crucial it was for the constant use of his quirk. He even managed to help think up some more creative ways in using Kazuya's quirk, especially the ones that involved the more technical uses in support rather in combat.
It was something he only realized once pointed out to him. Kazuya very rarely, if ever, uses his quirk in tandem with other people. He tried to argue that it was because of the limited number but quickly rebutted himself since he had thought of a way to counteract that ages ago.
While it's true that his markers are limited in number, he could always just delete unneeded ones and reapply them someplace else when he needs them. Not to mention that the number has grown to be quite significant now.
Most of the time, he only made strides and actions where he is always the main actor. Sure he accepts help from people, but he always forces himself to take on the biggest burden in every situation. He took on most of the fighting in the Battle Trials, he took risk after risk and nearly killed himself in the USJ (even when ALL his classmates were available), he took on the bulk of the job in the Cavalry Battle (He barely used any of the hundreds of the support items that Mei created, he had the job of not only protecting the headband, but also the one responsible for evading capture and gaining other points.).
So many things could have ended differently if he had relied more on other people.
'To be honest, I'm here to mooch off your strength.'
Shinso's words from the sports festival suddenly came to the forefront of his mind.
He's gotten so used to people relying on him that he's never gotten used to relying on others.
'Kazuya, what can we do?'
'Pray.'
The meteor shower in the USJ. There were plenty of other people who could help, but he yet again chose to take on everything by himself.
No wonder Shinso was pissed.
There was nothing wrong in taking a supporting role. It was an ideal that Kazuya believed wholeheartedly, but it seems it never stuck true to him on a personal level yet.
The subconscious need and want to be relied on, for people to look to him for help. That was the major driving force behind his entire goal. And that goal ate him up so much to the point he HAD to become that person, even if he wasn't ready for it yet.
A person like All Might, but not exactly that, no no. Instead of the Symbol of Peace, he will become the Beacon of Hope. When things look bleak and dark, he wants people to feel as though the light will always return.
That is what he aims to become. For the people to have someone that they can rely on whenever villains start to run amok. The reassurance that no matter what happens, to always believe that the future will be safe.
Kazuya shook his head as he returned back to his current situation. In order to curb back on the still adrenaline high from being back from patrol, Kazuya decided a small training session would suffice. Nothing big so as to force himself to take a sleep on the floor, but something significant enough where progress is beneficial and he could start dwindling the energy levels and he could get some rest.
'Hmm, that could work.'
Quickly deciding what to do, Kazuya immediately held his palm in front of him and willed his quirk to activate. The result came in the form of a red marker in the air spanning larger than his entire palm. He could already feel a significant drop in stamina as the marker disappeared . He tried again only to receive similar results.
'Still inefficient…'
Still, it was much better than it was weeks ago. If keeps at this, then perhaps his more flashier techniques won't require him to pass out after their use.
— The Warping Hero —
Midoriya was having breakfast at the Edgeshot Agency with Kazuya and a bunch of other sidekicks when the television mounted on the wall suddenly burst into life.
The suddenness of it all made every person on the lounge of the Agency instantly give the television their undivided attention. The news that appeared covered an incident that happened in Hosu. A hero massacre where twenty-two murders happened that targeted lone heroes in their patrol. Midoriya listened in horror as the murders happened in the dark of night, and especially when Ingenium, Iida's older brother, was among the victims.
He and Kazuya immediately had grim looks when the League of Villains made their appearance. Why an S-Rank Hero like the Hero Killer joined up with Shigaraki and the LOV was anyone's guess.
What was now very apparent, is that the League of Villains became much much more dangerous than they initially appeared to be.
Both Shigaraki and Kurogiri were upgraded to S-Rank threats themselves and their entire league has become a priority capture for the Heroes Association of Japan.
It was a surprise to Midoriya, but he guesses that's what happens when the casualties of the incident are that high. Especially considering that the League of Villains basically declared war on all the heroes in Japan.
He honestly wants to help as much as he can, but right now his priority is on one of his best friends. He and Kazuya knows that Iida went to his older brother for internships and Ingenium is one of the listed casualties. Nothing however stated the information regarding their friend.
Kazuya has been trying to call Iida the moment they received the news but until now, it never connected.
The entire lounge immediately stood into attention the moment Edgeshot entered the room. They all grew tense as they saw the man standing straight with his playful personality nowhere to be seen.
"Everyone get ready. We received a request for backup from one of the surviving agencies in Hosu. With so many Heroes taken out, crooks and villains have taken to the streets of the city for an opportunity to do villainy. We are to reinforce the Ingenium agency in helping them protect civilian life and clear the city of all villains." He stated, gaining looks of understanding from everyone present with all the sidekicks and staff members scrambling to prepare themselves.
Edgeshot then looked at the two interns he is currently in charge with. "Ordinarily, I wouldn't involve the two of you since this situation is a little too high rank for students such as yourselves. But right now, we don't have much choice. It's all hands on deck and I've seen you both in action to trust you know what to do." Edgeshot's eyes bore into the students as if to project just how serious the situation they will involve themselves in.
Just as he expected however, both Kazuya and Midoriya nodded with a steel determination visible in their posture. Edgeshot himself just gave a smirk before turning away to make his own preparations. "Get yourselves ready, we leave in ten."
Midoriya immediately went to suit up and mentally prepare himself for the times ahead.

"Hmm?" Enji Todoroki, also known as Endeavour, looked at the notification that appeared on his computer screen. He had just read the reports regarding the incident on Hosu City and was contemplating on what the existence of the League of Villains means getting forward.
He folded his arms as they rested on his chin. It's obvious now that the villains are getting more coordinated. They must have realized that individually, they don't stand a chance against the full might of Pro Heroes and chose to band together to do villainous deeds with allies.
It was a troublesome thought, and one he will rectify immediately. He is Endeavour, the Number 2 Pro Hero, known as the hero with the most arrests and solved crimes, even exceeding All Might himself.
That was when the notification popped up and he raised an eyebrow as he read the entire content. The agencies in Hosu are requesting reinforcements from the Endeavor Agency and the Edgeshot Agency to resolve the current situation following the massacre in Hosu. Villains of all kinds are running rampant on the streets in regards to the reduced number of heroes that now reside in the city.
It was a logical move, especially considering the heroes killed off were some of the more competent ones. And having two of the current top 5 heroes will see that the situation is contained and resolved quickly and efficiently.
Nodding to himself, he sent a call to his secretary to prepare some of the sidekicks and staff for the mission.
This would be a good case to bring Shoto as well, Endeavour realized. His son had done major improvements on his control over his fire, and while their relationship is undoubtedly still strained. He at least finds solace in the fact they are at least now on speaking terms.
Finishing to read all the reports that required his input, he got up from the chair in his office and prepared himself for the coming conflict. It's bound to be a long day after all.

Trivia: If you had to form a team of 6 to replace the original avengers with anime characters, who'd you pick? (Don't just choose the most op team you could think of and take their personalities and skills into play. People like Natsu or Tanjiro, who cares for friends and family, will never work with Itachi who is a known kinslayer, no matter the reasons behind it. And also take into account the roles they would play, a team filled with fighters but no leader is bound to fail.)
