He made a beeline for the elevator, because the direction in which Dr. Deng and Tong Jian had left was mostly submerged by the marsh, and the best escape route was through the elevator to the upper floors.

The marsh swept through the laboratory like a flood. Xu Huo, carrying Chu Yuan, leapt into the air and, passing the highest part of the marshland, saw Gan Qing and Lou Fu bending over it.

The marsh was Lou Fu's trait; he could stand on it as if on solid ground without any issues, but Gan Qing seemed to be unaffected by the marsh as well, able to stand firm no matter how tumultuous its churning.

Upon seeing Xu Huo and his companion, Gan Qing's face lit up with joy, "Did you guys kill Kong Cheng? Hurry over and help!"
