Darkness Monarch’s Covenant (1)

A/N: The chapter about Blake's bloodline power will be split in two because I don't know that it would actually be that long. But of course, since I've promised that I would tell you guys about the bloodline power today, I will be uploading two chapters today. And this chapter is (1/2). Enjoy!

==========

Blake was initially surprised when he suddenly found himself and the gorilla floating in a dark void of nothingness, and he was tempted to explore and figure out more about the place himself, but since he already knew where he was currently because the system had explained it to him before, and the fact that he had a business that he needed to tend to, Blake curb down his curiosity and focused back on the task that he needed to accomplish first.

"Hello," Blake said as he looked directly into the gorilla's eyes.

Just like how Blake was taken aback when he first saw the empty void, the gorilla was just as startled as him, even more so when its body was still full of wounds and hadn't recovered yet from the fight with the full-body armor gorilla.

And when it finally heard Blake's voice, the gorilla jerked its body towards Blake's direction and roared.

'So this is the feature that the system mentioned.' Blake thought as he could somehow understand what the gorilla was intending to say to him with the roar.

"No, I'm not here to fight you or challenge you," Blake spoke as he slowly walked closer to the gorilla.

The gorilla was also quite confused when it could actually completely understand the words that had come out of Blake's mouth. But still, even though it could hear Blake saying that he didn't mean to fight it, the gorilla wasn't a creature that had just been born yesterday and still kept its guard up. Even more so when Blake started making his way towards it.

Seeing the gorilla's gesture, Blake continued speaking again,

"There's no need to be on guard here, we can't hurt each other because we are currently-" Blake's words were suddenly cut off as the gorilla jumped forward while raising both of its arms and aimed to slam them towards Blake.

Blake actually had more than enough time for him to react and dodge the attack, but remembering once again what the system had told him before, and to prove his point to the gorilla, Blake stood still and just let the two huge arms that were as big as his whole body descend upon him.

The gorilla, who had just found out that its body had somehow become fully healed without any wounds on it anymore became ecstatic and the used the first chance that it got to attack the unknown humanoid demon in front of it, and seeing that the humanoid demon didn't even react to his attack, the gorilla smiled as it thought that it would crush the humanoid demon to paste.

The gorilla still remembered vividly how hundreds of darkness tendrils suddenly appear out of nowhere and defeated the six wolves in just a few seconds, and that was more than enough reason for the gorilla to be wary of the humanoid demon and erasing threats to your life was one of the first things the gorilla had learned when he lived in the demonic forest.

But when the gorilla realized that its huge fist didn't hit anything when it was supposed to be hitting the humanoid demon, the gorilla was confused as it looked downward to see that the humanoid demon was standing still with his arms folded in front of him with a bored look on his face.

The gorilla tilted its head in confusion before it tried punching Blake once again, only to receive the same result. Its fist just passed through Blake's body without doing anything.

"As I've said earlier. We can't even touch each other here, let alone hurt each other because we're in our consciousness." Blake said with a loud voice to make sure his voice reached the gorilla's ears properly this time.

The gorilla stood silent this time as it tried to process what Blake had told him, but after a few seconds, it scratched its head in confusion and released a low growl.

"What is the consciousness you ask? Um… It basically means that we're currently talking with our heads linked to each other, our actual body is still in the forest, and that's why we can't touch each other right now because our bodies aren't actually here."

The gorilla stayed silent once again as it tried its best to understand the meaning of the words that it had heard from Blake. But just like before, it ended with a blank look on its face while tilting its head.

'For goddess Vera's sake, did I do the wrong thing by trying to work with this gorilla?' Blake thought inwardly as he looked at the ape in front of him that still didn't understand the whole consciousness thing and tried pinching his body multiple times already in the span of five seconds.

'Well, let's just try to go straight into the point, and hope this guy gets what I meant.' Blake said before he double-checked the script that he had written in his head.

"Hey, gorilla!" Blake shouted to the creature.

The gorilla who was still trying to poke Blake's body finally stopped moving its fingers and turned to look at Blake as if asking what was a gorilla.

"Yes, I'm talking to you. A huge and very strong creature is called a gorilla, are you a gorilla?"

Hearing Blake's explanation and question the gorilla quickly nodded its head and drummed at his own chest before releasing a roar.

"ROAR!" (Yes, I'm a strong gorilla!)

Blake nodded inwardly when he saw this and continued, "Are you really a gorilla though? A gorilla is a creature that is so strong that it won't ever lose to anyone else."

"ROARR!" (I'm a gorilla! I never lose!)

"Really? Your body might not have any wounds here, but back in the real world… Don't you remember what just happened a while ago? A gorilla that had lost is not a gorilla anymore, it's just a monkey. A monkey is a weak and cowardly small creature that is afraid of everything and anything. Don't you think that you are more suited to be called a monkey?"

"RRR… ROARRR!" (No! I am not a weak monkey! I am a strong gorilla!")

"But don't you lose against another gorilla earlier?"

"ROARRRRRRR!" (That cowardly creature is cheating! I am stronger and faster than it! That thing is a coward! That thing is the monkey! I am the gorilla!)

"Well, as long as you are defeated by it, doesn't that mean you are the weaker one?"

"Rrrr….Roar!" ( If that coward was not cheating and used the ability, I should have won against it… I should have been the winner!)

"However, the truth now is that you lost, right? Let me ask you if you both use the ability, can you win against it?"

"Rrrr…" (No… the only reason I lost is because of the ability… my ability is weaker than it…)

"I understand, but don't you want to defeat that gorilla?"

"Roar!" (Of course! Without that ability, that thing didn't have a single chance against me!)

"What if I can make your ability stronger than that gorilla?" Blake spoke, this time, he made sure he spoke every word loud and clear so that the gorilla didn't miss even a single word that he had said.

P.S No offense to any monkeys out there, the monkey slander was only Blake's attempt to convince the gorilla. Monkeys are awesome!
