Waking Eva

Del Narration**

"Someone was after Rit a long time ago. I don't know who and why but that's something related to her past before she became my subordinate and entered Wega. Riz didn't want to talk about it either. But something had happened to her before she got the poison, she was abducted. I can't tell you the details now.

I wanted to clarify her cause of death to all others but Riz was attacked the same day. I felt as if I was being watched so for the sake of living ones, I decided to bury the truth. I could have waited for your return but someone presented your resignation paper which I had safety locked on my desk. It created a difficulty to wait for you. Another rumor of Riz killing his sister Rit was spread.

I couldn't control the situation so before you could return, the body was buried by Beta.

The rumors about me killing my own subordinate are half-truth and half-lie. Yeah, I did kill one that day and that was Bella. From my secret agents, I knew she was the informer of my other opponents. So I created the situation.

Luckily, the situation also created the opportunity for me to send Riz out of Wega. The description of me killing Riz was an act that only both of us knew. I felt Riz was in danger inside Wega. He even wanted to resign and go somewhere.

"Then where is Riz now? I have to meet him." He is a part of the other promise I gave to Rit Actually, Rit had asked a promise for me to keep safe of her brother and her five-year daughter who stayed outside of Wega. Even if she didn't ask me I would try any possible means to make them secure as they are like my family and the closest person in my heart.

I don't know about Rit's past but she had a daughter even before entering Wega. She and Riz had entered Wega two years before me. The location of where her daughter stays was only known either by her or her brother. As Rit was dead only Riz knew.

"Before I can answer this question Biva, I want to know, is Eva still alive, and why is she here?"

"Do you want to see or kill her? I had to swap her position to enter Wega so she is here."

"I would like to kill her for joining hand to destroy Wega and Rit. But if she is still alive as you haven't killed her, there must be a reason, no?"

"Mr. Del, why are you so smart and logical? I want to give her a second chance to live. What do you think?"

I told Del about the private clinic incident and my thoughts toward her.

"Do what you think is good. But don't completely trust her. Be more careful while using her." He believed my plans and thoughts.

"Sure."

"You need to wake her and talk to her. Just see what her choice will be. Then only think about her future."

Right, I haven't talked with her and listened to her thoughts. So first let's wake her up…..

Both Del and I went to the basement to look at the girl who was lying on the bed.

"Biva who is she and where is Eva?"

Pointing at the girl "She is Eva. I modified ( a plastic surgery) her facial and body structure. It will be a huge headache if someone sees her as Eva. The world has believed her to be dead, so why take the risk."

"You are cautious, good. No one can identify her with this look. Now, wake her up."

I injected her with medicine and took out the apparatus attached to her. Waited for half an hour on the chair. The basement was in pin-drop silence. I asked Del to stay in the corner of the room from where Eva wasn't able to see Del.

I could see her eyes fluttering as she opened her eye. Seeing a shadow in the dark room and the chain binding her leg movements, she was on high alert. I gave her time to adjust her shock, alertness, or whatever emotions were building inside of her.

She stared at me without blinking her eyes. I passed her a glass of water to drink and dragged my chair opposite her.

She hesitated but at last took the glass and drank, "Who the hell are you..what is this place–?"

Me: "Miss Eva no need to be aggressive. At least you are safe here."

"Why would I be in danger?"

"Oh, maybe you don't know. Because of you, the plan to intervene in Wega's affair and the death of Del has failed. Wega has been destroyed. So why don't you think of the reason yourself."

"No….no …it can't be…I can't…fail–"

"But it failed, no? So what do you think they will do to you if you are found?"

"I can't be found. I can't be found. Can you help me?"

"Why should I help you??"

Eva was quiet as she couldn't find any reason to be helped. She lowered her head and a few drops of tears fell. I could feel her change of emotions, mostly the despair, helplessness, and gloom.

No human can be without emotions. Everything they do is right from their own perspective. Maybe she has other reasons. Should I listen to her story or just ignore it?

"I can help you on one condition if you agree."

"What's it? I will do anything as long as I can live to take my revenge and to see someone"

"Help me out to find those who are involved in Rit's murder and the reason for spying on Del."

"WHAT...How do you know so much about Wega, Del, or Rit? Just who are you?"

"Don't ask what you shouldn't."

"Okay let me think ."

"And one more Eva, I can help you with the revenge if it's against your so-called family. I can even help to see or meet someone if you work for me. You should know it's not easy but very dangerous to work with me and have to go against your old teammates. So think wisely about what is good for you. Oh yeah.....I have something for you here."

I put a pen drive on the table and signaled Del to exit the room leaving her alone. On the pen drive, I had recorded the conversation I had with Eva's family in the hospital.

In the living room,

"Will she work for you, Biva??"

"Don't call me Biva only B. You may leak the information as I am alive."

"Okay okay"

"Let's wait till tomorrow. She has only two choices; to assist me or die. The person who wants to live won't choose to die. At least I don't think so." I am confident in my decision that Eva will assist me.

"Where have you sent Pri, knowing I destroyed Wega you are not planning to create a force and take revenge on me, are you?"

"How can you think so? I have decided to live a mundane life now. I want to have a retirement. And you have turned more alert, sly, and chatty too."

"Maybe. Are you sure of your decision? I thought you will be on my side to find the murderer of Rit and have a good fight."

"I am already old. If I don't do it you will certainly do. So, why waste my time? I have sent Pri to manage my living afterward."

"You even planned without talking to me."

"You are my subordinate, why should I consult you? I have something crucial to talk to you but first finish your other matters and meet me later."

"Sure."
