17. A JOB OFFER 1

Justin made time to visit Yvonne without Ray. He visited her throughout her stay at home and sometimes when no one is at home, He stayed to take of her with her parents' permission.

Yvonne's mom teased Yvonne concerning her relationship with Justin which makes Yvonne blush. Telling her to take note of everything he does, even the little things cos it counts, meaning he wants more than only friendship from her.

Yvonne continued working as a waitress for a year but had to resign because it suddenly became tiring for her for 4 months till now.

Yvonne told her Mom about opening their eatery and her mom complied with the idea. They added up the money they got from working and a little from her stepdad to open a small eatery. They wanted to earn money on their own without working for others.

One afternoon, while Yvonne was resting, Justin came into the eatery.

"Good afternoon, princess." Greeting her as he entered.

"Good afternoon, Justin." Smiling at him.

He went over to where she sat, bent to her level, and pecked her cheek.

Yvonne noticed Justin does things that he hasn't been doing before, he was doing them more than normal. Things a friend doesn't do.

When they are together, his hand are always around her, holding or playing with her hand or holding her waist. Sometimes, he kisses her on the forehead and or her cheeks.

The previous night, His goodnight kiss wasn't on her cheek but the side of her mouth. It shocked her to the core but he only smiled at her like it was nothing and left.

He sat down on the chair beside her, "Am hungry."

She laughed, "Foodie." He playfully glared at her and she went to get his food.

She came back with the food and a bottle of water, set it in front of him before sitting down.

"Thanks, princess." He took his cutlery and began to eat.

"You are welcome." Smiled at him.

30 minutes later, Justin finished eating, Yvonne took the dishes to the kitchen, washed them, and came back to the cafeteria.

"What of Mom?" He noticed she wasn't in.

"She went to get some things from the market."

"How are sales around here?" Wanting to bring up a conversation.

Yvonne looked around, "Progressing, at least it's better than before.

He smiled at her, "That's okay... How is Cammy?"

"She's fine... At school."

"I have been meaning to ask you something..."

Looking at him with full attentiveness, "Okay... Go on."

"Just wanted to ask." Yvonne nods. "What did you study in school?"

"I studied Business administration."

"Wow." He was surprised, "And you didn't apply for any job around here?"

She shrugged, "I did but no fertile result."

"Where are your credentials?"

"They are at home."

"Bring them here, I am coming tomorrow."

Wondering about his reason for it, "What are you using them for?"

"I just want to see them, princess."

Yvonne nods at him. They talked for some time before Justin said he was going back to the company. Yvonne walked him out.

Not too long, Mary came back. "Mom, am going to pick Cammy up."

"Okay baby. Go straight home to prepare dinner and if you aren't tired, you can come back for us to pack up."

"Okay, Mom." She bade Mary bye and left for Cammy's school to pick her up.

30 minutes later, She got to the school and smiled when she saw Cammy coming out with her friend, Zara.

She moved toward them before they could sight her.

"Baby," Yvonne called her as she got to her side.

Cammy and Zara looked up at the person calling her "BABY."

Cammy smiled widely and hugged her sister happily, Zara joined the hug.

"Yvonne," Cammy called happily.

Yvonne ruffled their hair, "How are you, Zara?" Greeting her.

"I am good, Sis Yvonne."

Yvonne looked at both Cammy and Zara, asking them, "How was your day?"

"It was fun." Both answered, giggling.

Zara looked around and saw her elder brother, "Bye. My elder brother is here."

She raised her hand to wave at her brother for him to see her. He noticed her and waved at her, She immediately ran to him and hug him. He waved at Yvonne and Cammy and they did the same. They left for home.

On getting home, Yvonne showered and moved to the kitchen to prepare dinner while Cammy went to shower and do her homework before eating.

After preparing dinner, Yvonne served and took them to the dining room. As soon as she was done setting the dining, Jude entered the house.

He greeted loudly from the door, "Good evening everyone." Cammy came down the stairs from her room while Yvonne came out of the kitchen.

"Evening dad. Welcome." Cammy said, hugging Jude.

He carried her in his arms, "Thanks, baby. How was school today?" He ruffled her hair.

She groaned, "Ahhh, Dad." Pushing his hand away from her hair. "School was fun and great dad."

"Okay sweetheart." He pecked her cheeks.

"Evening sir. Welcome home." Yvonne greeted.

"Thanks, Yvonne." He answered with a smile.

"Should I dish your food now?" She asked about serving Cammy's food.

"Yes. I will just take a shower and come back downstairs to eat." He dropped Cammy, pecked her forehead, and went to his room.

Yvonne dished his food and covered it, She served and gave Cammy hers.

"Thanks." She watched her sister moving away from the dining, "Aren't you eating?" Cammy asked.

"I would but not now. I am going to the eatery to help Mom lock up. Tell him," She pointed to the stairs, referring to Jude "When he comes down. I have to get going."

"Okay, Sis. Bye." She bade Cammy bye and left for her Mom's eatery.

She took a cab and got there early. She entered and saw up to 8-10 customers eating. She went to the kitchen area and meet Mary warming up the remaining food.

"Good evening Mom." Greeting Mary.

"Evening dear, have you prepared dinner?"

"Yes, Mom." Nodding and arranging things around. "Jude is back."

"Jude? Or dad. Why is it hard for you?" She stopped what she was doing to look at Yvonne

She groaned, "Mom, not this night please." She pleaded.

Mary looked at her for some time, shook her head, and continued what she was doing, "Am eating this for dinner." Pointing at the food, she was warming in the microwave.

"It is not much... Will you be okay with only that?"

"I will eat this and small from the one at home."

"Okay. Am outside." She came back to the main eatery.

Coming out, She gave out bills to the customers, cleared the tables, and packed their dishes to the kitchen. She quickly washed the plates, tidied up the kitchen, and swept the eatery.

She came outside to throw the dirt, she had packed when Justin walked in.

"Evening princess." He pecked her cheeks as he got to her.

Yvonne blushed, "Evening Justin... Hey."

He smiled, "Surprised? I came over to drive you home."

He noticed the big black bags with her, he collected the 2 big ones from her and left the small one for her. "Let me help with this." He walked fast to the trash can with her following behind.

"Don't let it stain your clothes. Thanks." He nods.

"Aren't you tired? You should have gone home to rest..." unhinged asked as they washed their hands and headed back to the eatery.

"Nope." He shook his head negatively. "Where is Mom?" He looked around as they entered the eatery.

She pointed to the kitchen, "She's in the kitchen. Go and seat down, I'll go and call her." Going to the kitchen.

Justin shouted after her, "I am also hungry."

She nodded, "I am coming." Pointing at the chair that was beside her," Come and sit here."
