[Warning: Tragedy]

Two blissful weeks passed in the remote palace. As a member of the Harem, the rules meant I could not leave unless I had the Emperor's permission, or Damian to escort me, again with permission. 

Subconsciously, that made me panic; however, Ren was constantly reassuring me that if I wanted to, she or her guards could easily sneak me out at any time. 

Thankfully, Helios was allowed to visit with the steward. Especially since his papa was away with my Mate, trying to solve the current war with more peaceful methods.

Currently, he was in fox form chasing birds through the foliage. 

"Here, drink up," Ren sat beside me on a wooden lounger, passing the fruit-flavored tea. 

"Is there any news on Theo today?" I asked. They had sent men, including Gin, to fetch him two weeks ago, but so far I'd heard nothing. 

She bit her lip, hesitant.  "He wasn't there, it was cleared out, empty."
