How did I make something so perfect? So pure? Little arms and legs waved before me, reaching for the sky.

"It's getting cold Luna," Holly knelt to talk quietly in my ear, making me jump out of my trance.

It was hard getting used to this version of Holly, or Carebear as Ty and Lex called her. Just another stranger acting familiar. Yet again, I was the odd one out, the only one who did not remember anything.

"Just a few more minutes," I sighed, rolling on my side to dangle my hand above Izzy, occasionally tickling her fingers and toes.

The weather was warm and sunny today and I wanted to make the most of gathering vitamin D from the sun, plus I felt the need to connect with the network underneath.

Izzy had both her parent's gifts, she'd display both abilities at some point soon, and it was good for her to connect alongside me.

The base was truly alive and thriving, making what we had at the college only child's play. No wonder new people arrived every day.

I hadn't thought so many had made it alive. Especially without experiencing a fever. Those who hadn't mutated outweighed those of us who had. If they all turned at once…

Shivering I rose to my feet and picked Izzy up to take her inside, needing the security of four walls, even if they were thin.

Lex returned from another busy day with his father shortly after. I'd not bothered to enquire what they were working on, I just assumed it was related to the work Hannah had saw snippets of before.

It wasn't time yet for General Lee to start making people disappear. I'd warned Lex about it, what he did with it was nothing to do with me. Not to mention Noah should be aware of it, or some of it by now.

Speaking of Noah, these few months I'd not seen sight of him, Will, or anyone else in their squad. I was curious about what could be so important to drag Will away from his sister and newborn niece. This had not happened in the alternative timeline.

Then again, this is exactly what that Hannah would expect. She was never important enough for Will to drop everything and come running. No matter how desperate or scared she felt, she was always left alone in the end.

"Nuclei for your thoughts?" Lex presented clear and shiny crystal-like nuclei in his palm. I glanced up at him, confused about where it had come from.

Still, I took it and swallowed it, hoping it would take me out of my rubbish mood.

"Oh," I found myself speechless at the electrifying rush spreading from my chest.

"Was a complete fucker getting that you know," he leaned back on the sofa languidly stretching his arms along the back.

I raised a brow, "and?"

"How about a thank you?" He tilted his cheek and pointed to it.

Rolling my eyes I leaned to kiss his cheek. At the last moment, he turned his head to kiss my lips, greedily gripping my hair and keeping me still until he finished collecting his gratitude.

"You're welcome," he winked, then jumped back up to walk to the kitchenette, "where's Izzy?"

"Here," I stood up and passed him a cup of coffee I'd stored in the space from earlier. I'd noticed how the first thing he did each evening was kissing me, then he'd kiss Izzy, then make a coffee. "She's asleep with Holly."

"Thanks," he took a long drink from the coffee then sighed in satisfaction, "why are you still using that name?"

"Because I cannot call her carebear with a serious face," I grumbled, taking out a cup of herbal tea I'd blended myself.

Unable to stand how easy things had been with Holly practically a live-in nanny and never needing to leave the Civvy area once, I'd spent these lazy months slowly exercising my body and my brain. Looking up my biggest strength in this dimension, plants.

I'd made sure to pick a caravan near the forest that the wall had so crudely been built through, so it was easy to go foraging for the plants in the books I'd scavenged.

System had me sending plants into my dimension left right and centre. It had been working on a planet using the materials I sent through. Though it had told me reaching godhood was something that took a while, I assumed the universe was looking out for me putting me in a dimension with this virus.

Suppose it was no wonder there were so many System users here, who would turn down free power.

Well… it wasn't exactly that free. There was still a price to pay, just I wasn't the poor unfortunate immortal paying it.

"So where are my goods?" He whispered into my ear from behind.

"Your what?" I set my cup down on the counter and turned around to face him.

"Your thoughts," he changed his words feigning ignorance whilst setting his cup right beside mine and firmly pressing his hands onto either side of me on the counter, pinning me in, "what's put that look on your face?"

"Why is this face not beautiful enough for you?" I raised my brow, feigning disdain.

"Any face you wear is so beautiful, I don't deserve you," he kissed my forehead, then the tip of my nose, then hesitated just before my lips, "yet I still take you every time anyway."

My thighs clenched together at his words.

All this time he hadn't touched me once, busy with his dad's project, Izzy was awake or he'd say he wanted me to heal more. I was going crazy. Part of me was paranoid that he enjoyed teasing me more than playing with me now.

"But what I'm after is what's going on inside of here?" he playfully knocked on my head with his hand, then let it slide down to cup my cheek, tilting my eyes to lock onto his.

"Noah and Will have been gone for so long," I sighed, unable to meet his eyes as I talked.

"And?"

"I-I, was worried."

Lex rolled his eyes and pushed up off me, "Will was fine when I saw him, I went with the team that helped them home today."

I bounced up to his side, pulling on his arm, "he's okay? What about Noah? Why didn't you say Noah's okay?" The guilt in my stomach had not disappeared, instead each passing day it grew like a snowball rolling down a snowy hill.

"Noah was injured; however, I don't get what that has to do with us?" Lex spoke through a clenched jaw.

"He's Izzy's father," I frowned, annoyed that he was annoyed, then annoyed at myself for getting so worked up.

"I am Izzy's father," he growled and stormed out of the room leaving me confused with a leaking boob. Shortly after I heard her grumbles and Holly's soft words through the wall. Dinner time.
