Hollberg's sky was dyed in an orange hue. The sun was coming up from the horizon, but the scene reflected by the rising sun could only be described as tragic.
Agents surrounded a certain mansion, and desperate cries and echoes resounded across the space.
-Weeeeeooo! -Weeeeeoooo! -Weeeeeoooo!
The sound of ambulances traveling back and forth between the mansion and the hospital continuously resounded throughout the city of Hollberg. Inside of them, either corpses or wounded people were being carried.
Although the situation had been taken care of by the professors who killed all of the black-clad individuals before the agents could arrive, the aftermath of the chaos still remained.
"Students Kevin Voss, Amanda Stern, and Emma Roshfield. We heard the story."
Outside the mansion, a formal agent wearing a black suit scribbled on a piece of paper as he talked to Kevin, Amanda, and Emma.
"We will ask for details later, so go back and rest for now. Our agents will take care of the rest."
After asking Kevin, Emma, and Amanda a couple of questions, the agent dismissed them. It was evident that with everything that was going on, he was very busy.
As they walked, looking around, Kevin glanced at the other students.
Many of them were crying and grieving. The people with whom they were happily chatting and joking the night prior had either died or were on the verge of dying.
It was a truly saddening and horrific night...
While Kevin was looking around he noticed two students who were in far better shape than other students.
One had jet-black hair and deep blue eyes with slight pale skin probably due mana exhaustion. Other than slightly messy dress and little pale skin he was completely unscratched.
And other is a tall young man with a lean build who is considered very attractive, mainly due to his facial features which could not be hidden even though the use of blindfold. He was completely unscratched. He only had a little messy dress dyed with some dried blood.
These two individuals were Ren and Gojo respectively.
Honestly speaking Kevin has mixed feelings about both of them.
Both of them were extremely powerful for first year students. He could not even react to the speed of Ren's attack even though he was injured at that time. Kevin can't guarantee that he even in his full strength can pary Ren's attack.
That was a testament to the speed of the attack of Ren.
What was even more shocking was Gojo was casually able to follow the speed of Ren's attack and remained unfazed.
Kevin also witnessed Gojo's battle (before he was knocked out) who was way more powerful than the clad individual he was facing against.
While emergence of strong people is good for humanity. Kevin wasn't aware of there motive for hiding there power. And he also had a very competitive spirit of his own with some low-key agrrogance which took a big hit.
While Kevin was thinking about Gojo and Ren, Emma and Amanda were also silently staring at the figure of Gojo and Ren lost in their own thoughts.
For Emma Ren was just a weirdo before yesterday's event which caused her opinion of Ren to be completely overturned.
What she saw yesterday was a terrifying sight. Many people were dying but Ren was very calm for such a situation.
He had beaten up Jin very badly. But it was not something that came to her mind when she thinks about Ren. What came to her mind was his terrifying eyes which held no emotions.
Those eyes only held indifference to anything around them. It was as if those eyes were able to see through her soul and read her actions like an open book which for her was very terrifying.
Amanda who had seen those terrifying eyes for the second time was even more terrifying as she had seen him kill an D rank villain with a single strike.
Her opinion of Ren had not changed much from before the incident as she had already seen him in such state once. The change in emotions were very drastic as normally reading the emotions on his face was very easy.
But in the state he was during the party and yesterday reading his emotions were impossible for her due to him being completely emotionless.
Amanda had two theories regrading Ren's emotionless state.
One is that he was hiding his true self. Or he was in emotionless state due to a use of some kind of skill.
[A/N: I found it weird that main cast never questioned Ren about his emotionless state ever in the novel so, i am making it seem as if they had already speculated that it happened due to the use of some kind of skill. You can say this is headcannon shit.]
Amanda was inclined to believe latter.
Amanda had been aware of Ren's strength but Gojo's came out of nowhere.
Both Emma and Amanda had similar thought regrading Gojo's personality.
They believed him to be a very self confident guy whose arrogance knows no bound.
While his playful demeanour made them think of him as someone who could never be serious.
When Gojo suddenly appeared during the fight both of them were shocked. Against a opponent who was higher ranking than himself Gojo still had his playful character which was frightening to them.
Gojo and Ren both have hidden their strength for some unknown reason.
[A/N: I had casually written that Gojo's birth made mana thicker or stronger or denser. It actually become something that did happen in the cannon. I had forgotten that more mana makes possible for lower ranking demons to survive in Earth atmosphere. Ren is more powerful than in cannon not by much though just a minor rank increase is all. While i was thinking about the future plot i got the realisation that i was writing like this was a novel where i had to take every character forward. Love intrest is most probably will be Amanda. Why?I like her character. It is honestly better than Kevin's character which is a hero complex of most shonen protagonist in my humble opinion. Obviously this is because there hasn't been much of a character development. (His character has started to develop but there wasn't much time after the whole tournament arc. While writing this, A new volume has just started so,yeah not much time.) But there is something that i don't understand why do some of you guys hate like every character of the whole novel. I thought that the characters are one of it's best points. There was this comment saying that when Ren was being bullied Kevin didn't step up to help him (which he did by the way). Here is the thing this is a strong eats weak world where murder is common. We have to understand that morality of the novel and our world is completely different. Enough of my rant. I definitely didn't did this to increase the word count at all.....hehe... When i wrote this whole A/N it was at the start of new volume so yeah i had stopped writing this chapter midway and wrote this. I have not written anything for a long time. The part of Kevin thought while i was thinking many ideas came in my mind that i could not write anything. I didn't wanted to discontinue this so i decided to be done with this part. Not a really important chapter anyway. I might make a rewrite of this chapter in future though.]
[A/N: Our Mc is not completely like Gojo. He had nonchalant and playful attitude but deep inside he was an aggnorant because of his subconscious thinking of the whole world as novel. When gojo learned about Amanda's mother he started to believe everything happened for some reason. He doesn't have much advantage of future knowledge as he had not even completed reading the Lock competition arc not sure of its name.]
