SWORD AND SHIELD

The atmosphere in the colosseum was tense. Everyone was paying absolute attention to the two fighters battling it out in the sandy arena and this was particularly true for all those who had bet significant amounts on the ongoing fight.

It was no secret that a fight between two skilled people could change for the best or the worst in only a second or two for one party following a slight mistake from the other. After such a blunder, the unfortunate fighter was only bound to quickly follow his mistake into defeat.

This placed a huge toll on sponsors supporting said fighters or even fans who have bet on them. Even then, nothing was guaranteed in a fight between experts where one could overwhelm the other with just two or three moves, and many gamblers knew that just because a fight seems to be nearing it's conclusion doesn't mean that the one currently being beat on had no chance to change his fate.
