"Everyone out," Kaya ordered. "Even you, General. Only you two stay," she said, looking at Joel and Emmy.

She tightly gripped the back of a chair and gnashed her teeth together as the command tent emptied.

"Tell me what happened at the temple," she said as soon as she was sure everyone was out of earshot. "And where is he? Where's Gus?"

"We found a huge cave underneath it," Joel said, "with energy sources and metal walls."

"There's nothing to prove this, but it can't have been natural," Emmy added.

"We found out why they were having problems, at least probably. There was something disconnected down there, likely by the Bloody Dawn," Joel finished.

"They were down there, the Bloody Dawn. They had drills of some kind, so perhaps they were collecting something or looking for something down there," Emmy said.
