Over the next few days, time seemed to morph from something following a linear pattern to something incomprehensible. The Reapers had been permitted to have some time away from both lessons and missions in order to recover from the ordeal that they had been through, and for those days it seemed like time was not a real thing. While it was presented to them as a choice, the academy had basically forced them into the decision of taking some time off.

Even though they had been told to take the time to rest and recover both physically and mentally, some of them had chosen to disobey and had taken the time to hone their skills.

Hating the fact that they had been taken, Joel and Teala found themselves at the pit most days, spending hours on end honing their skills and leading others in training.
