Chapter 17

'You're the only girl I'd ever want in my life.' he said there in the letter.

I don't want to go home like this. I don't want to explain to anyone at home. I want to think all night about how it all happened, and how it all led to this.

"I want to stay with you, Ze. But I have something to do. I'll be right back. Promise." Keion said.

He took me to his unit because I didn't want to go home. People there might just ask me why my eyes are swollen. I also didn't tell them to where I was.

"Zella baby, we'll be right back, " Elton said who also came with us in Keion's unit.

"And who says you'll come here later? This isn't your home, so you're not welcome here." Keion smirked and Elton's evil look shot at him.

Keion took me to one of the guest rooms of his condo. His unit is nice but I don't have time to appreciate that anymore. My brain is too buoyant to pay attention to things.

"If you need anything, call me. Anything. I'll be home right away." said Keion and I nodded.

I always knew he's this good. He is one of those people that at first glance, you will know it. It's not like Taiden has a rude face all the time, and that's where I really fell for him. His ruthless aura and cold stare all the time.

"Why is he like that?" I asked Keion tremblingly and he looked at me with pity in his eyes. His eyes are comforting, that's how I see it.

He licked on his lips before touching his nape of his neck as if he was having difficulty speaking.

"I'm not in a position to tell you what he's doing, Zella. But you're my friend. The only thing I can do is support you. I'm here, Ze. Always here for you."

That was the last thing Keion told me before he left. I still don't understand. He is not in position? Who is in a position to tell me everything Taiden does? I was just a simple helper, but this is how he messed up my brain and emotions.

I lay on the bed and just stared at the wall. I was thinking...Why did I love him so easily? Why did my heart fall on him even though we started to constantly quarrel?

The worst thing here is, I opened up to him. I let him destroy my walls. I told him my life, my sorrows and joys. I did trust him. But this is what he does.

I strengthen myself. Before I make a decision, I first need to hear his explanation. Sometimes, not everything we see and hear are true.

I fell asleep thinking about what had happened yesterday. Now that I'm awake, I'm having trouble thinking how to explain later in the mansion.

"Good Morning..." Keion greeted when he entered my room. He went home. I didn't even realize it. I think I was tired of crying yesterday. How is the kidnapped child?

"Uh ... how's your meeting?" I asked.

"Fine. We saved them."

Suzie says they are racers. Why do they look like superheroes? I just didn't investigate everything either.

"Let's go, let's have breakfast." he said and I smiled. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash up and at least take a shower. It's embarrassing to talk to Keion not even taking a shower!

I was frozen when I reliazed the person I had talked to before. He was quite close to the bed. He might have smelled my mouth! It was as if my cheek was being pulled at the awkward feeling.

I immediately went to the kitchen and saw him brewing coffee. Earlier, he was wearing a shirt when he went to the bedroom. Why is it gone now?

I can freely see his broad shoulders. Muscles in right places and his round perfect bum, which was perfectly matched to his sweat pants.

I shooked my head. Your eyes are traveling too much Zella!

I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"Sit. I'll just finish this." he said and continued what he was doing while I sat down. When he turned around, he was already carrying two cups of coffee. He dropped one in front of me.

At the mansion, Mother Helen always took care of my breakfast. Now, a man did it for me.

"You can cook?" I asked noticing what he's cooking. Men, like Taiden, often don't know how to cook.

He raised an eyebrow at me and had a smile on his lips.

"Of course Zella. I'm alone in the US, so, I cook for myself." he said and I nodded.

He took an egg and put it on my plate along with the fried rice. He also put on sausage afterwards. I didn't take it easy because I was amazed to watch what he was doing. The luck of Keion's future girlfriend.

"Let's dig in?" he said and we ate immediately. We didn't talk about what had happened yesterday, instead he talked about his life in the US.

I found out that in the US they studied together with his friends. He also reminisced the silly things they had done before.

I was so relieved with Keion, I forgot for a moment about Sofiya and Taiden.

"You shouldn't have sent me here," I said as we reached the mansion. He insisted on taking me to help me explain to Madam. I was a little nervous because this was the first time I hadn't slept in the mansion.

"It's fine, Zella. I don't have anything to do, and it'll take you longer for you to get home commuting." he said and I just shook my head.

Today is the second day without Taiden. I'm sure he'll be home tomorrow. I'll confront him about that picture spreading.

"Jesus Zella. We were worried about you last night. We called Suzie and she said you weren't there with them. We can't contact you. What happened hija?" concerned, said Madam.

I'm ashamed of what I did but I also can't tell them that it's because of Taiden that I didn't go home.

"We hangout yesterday, Tita and she suddenly feeling ill, so I just took her to my condo, which is near from the shop where we had a little talk," Keion explained.

I was even more embarrassed because he lied for me. I'm already bothering other people. I'll make sure that next time, I'll never do this ever again.

"Oh. How are you feeling? Are you alright? Let's go to the docto-."

'I'm fine Madam. I'm fine. Keion took care of me ... "I said and smiled to calm the worried lady down. Madam has been very kind to me since then.

"Okay. But you're going to rest now. Don't help the house helps and just take a rest." she said and I just nodded.

We also lied. Just thoroughly.

We were busy talking to Madam when we heard two voices approaching us.

"Tita!" Sofiya ran to Madam and kissed her on the cheek. My eyes immediately went to the man following Sofiya. He didn't look at me. His eyes were only on Sofiya.

"I thought you were coming home tomorrow?" Madam asked.

"Taiden got bored Tita so he wanted to go home, so this." she said and the lady nodded.

I was still looking at Taiden but he still didn't look at me. He didn't even notice Keion who was just by my side.

"I see. I'm sorry for that Sofiya, forgive Taiden. I saw your pictures! You two were so sweet!" Madam said happily and my heart trembled slightly there.

"Ugh. Taiden was so clingy, Tita." and Madam laughed at it.

"We also got into trouble yesterday because Zella didn't come home. It's a good thing that Keion was with her." Madam informed them.

Then Taiden looked at me and his eyes were furious. His gaze seemed to pierce me.

"So, how's your time with him?" he asked coldly while still staring at me intently.

I would have spoken the first when Sofiya interrupted.

"I'm going home, Taiden. I'll be back later." it was as if my heart dropped when she kissed Taiden on the lips in front of me and my breathing tightened even more as Taiden held Sofiya's waist as he looked at me.

With all my might I held back my tears because I was in front of everyone. I took a deep breath over and over, because I felt like I was going to lose my breath with my chest so tight.

I don't think we need to talk anymore. He has already given me the answer to my questions. He's stupid! He played 'me!

The faster I fell for him, the more painful I fell for it.
