Don't Okay Me

"… never in my life have I seen Arthur angry." 

"He has never been. It is because he looks up to him more than he does to his father. He is his brother."

"I have to say from another mother." 

"Cliché." 

Three voices say one is mine. And then it occurs to me, that those voices were distant. Where am I? What am I doing? 

"He is awake." Comes Norah's voice.

Sally disagrees. "No. Let him be."

Norah says, I can hear the amusement in her voice. "As I was saying. He was mad when…" 

"Why are you two talking into my ears," I ask them and try to open my eyes. 

"Don't open them. It will be of no use." Norah says. 

Sally laughs and says, "We should leave." 

"No," I yell and try to sit up. When I manage, I look around the room and find Norah and Sally staring at me, hands on their hips. They don't seem happy to see me. I look around the room and then back at them.
