Oh, You Didn't

Maya didn't want to ask her mother while she was driving and as much as it was killing her, she needed to wait till they arrived at wherever her mother was taking her. 

If anything Maya knew about asking someone about something bad, it was always better when you made sure they were not driving or handling something hot or just doing something which will hurt them if they are asked about something which might upset them. 

The same thing goes with when delivering sad news, if anyone wanted to tell the other person that their loved ones have passed away, they always ask them to take a seat. This is in a situation where they are face to face. 

While on the phone, someone would ask first what they were doing and where they were and then from there they would go ahead and tell them about the news.
