[Quincy Archer Hates You Arc] Part 35: For the Sake of Revenge, Lead us to Death

# 18th of July | Karakura High School#

I was in one of the hallways at the school with several other students. We were all looking at a chart with the top marks on the freshman final exams for the 1st semester.

The rest of the students were either looking for their names on the board or, in Keigo and Mizuiro's case, praying that they weren't on the list.

Unlike them, I was just staring at the board. I was more focused on the conversation I was having with Cheshire than worried about finding my name on the list.

Cheshire: 'You're still worried about yesterday's conversation, aren't you?'

Yato: 'If I say I'm not worried, I'd be lying. Uryu simply ignored what I asked and left without saying a single word.'

Cheshire: 'Which means that in case the conversation didn't work out…you better get ready because today is going to be a very busy day…eh hehehe—'

Their yelling ended up making me pay more attention to them. At first I didn't say anything as I watched Keigo try to congratulate Chad for not being a nerd like Ichigo and in response, Chad pointed to the 11th place where his name was ranked.

Yato: 'It would be funny if my name was on the list too…' - I finally decided to look up my name in that ranking.

Keigo: "You two stay away from us!! I didn't know you two were such cruel demons!!!"

Ichigo/Chad: "....."

Yato: "Ah…I came in 15th." - I said surprised.

Keigo: "Run away, comrade Kojima!! This is a nerd epidemic!!!!" - He shouted as he ran, being followed by Mizuiro.

I looked at Tatsuki and now that she was closer I saw that the circles under her eyes looked darker.

Yato: "Hum…Tatsuki, are you alright?"

Tatsuki: "Why do you ask?"

Yato: "You just look like you haven't slept in weeks."

Tatsuki: "Don't worry about it. You should be more worried about your 'fiancée', shouldn't you? Where is she anyway?" - She mocked.

Yato: "She had to…solve some problems…"

Tatsuki: "And these problems have to do with Ichigo making that face since he entered school today?"

Tatsuki: "These "powers". I was trying to understand them on my own. That's why I haven't been sleeping well. I know you probably understand more about this subject than I do, but you already have your own problems and I don't wanted to bother.

At first I didn't understand why she decided to say that now if a few seconds ago she didn't want to bring it up, but then I finally realized.

Yato: 'She's worried about her friends and the fact that I don't tell her in detail what's going on has upset her. She's trying to show that I can trust her.'

She continued to stare at me.

Yato: "You have karate club in a few minutes, right?"

She clenched her fists, irritated that I had suddenly changed the subject, but I kept talking before she decided to do something violent.

Yato: "I'll accompany you there and explain everything on the way. I don't belong to any clubs so I would go home anyway."

My words seem to have had their effect as she has become a little more relaxed.

Upon swallowing the pill, Ichigo's shinigami form is ejected out of his body.

Ichigo: "Kon, watch the match from there. Just watch as I beat this guy up!"

The modified soul, known as Kon, just stared at the two students without really understanding the situation.

Ichigo: "Hurry up…just explain the rules of this fight."

The other student, just like Ichigo did a few seconds ago, also takes a small capsule out of his uniform pocket.

Ichigo: "...Huh? And what is it?"
