A sudden blackout spread through the elevator and further down the corridor. It froze the partially opened door.
The distant lights flickered once in a while.
But other than that, there was nothing anyone could see.
Azuma stared, not understanding those voices or the irrational fear that crept into his every nerve and made him relive some of his worst moments.
"How…" he muttered in disbelief.
"Dimensional waste," a masked man replied, "It's waste energy resulted in interstellar or dimensional reactions."
"It makes lights go out?" Azuma's voice was hoarse.
"Yeah, overloads the circuits and all."
The group waited for a few moments, they needed calculated instructions again like before. But those never came.
Instead, the elevator door closed.
The red letters turned blue again.
