CHAPTER 7: TWO WEEKS LATER

Two weeks later

Athena woke up and heard the sound of water dripping in the bathroom. She got up, removed her clothes, and walked naked to the bathroom. She wants to join her husband inside, even though she still feels like sleeping.

Marco heard the door unlocked and was in awe when he saw his wife walking in naked. He smiled and shook his head. This naughty wife of his never fails to amuse him. He opened the sliding glass door and dragged her in.

She hugged his naked body tight and whispered, "Good morning, babe."

"Good morning, love," he replied and seized her lips. The kiss was short but breathtaking. He reached for her shampoo, gently rubbed it on her head, and then rinsed it. Athena got his soap and adoringly spread it from his neck down to his shoulder. 'Damn! This broad shoulder is so comfortable to lean on.' She thought as she bit her lower lip. Touching his toned body is overwhelming her. She looked him in the eye and saw the burning desire he was trying to control. She is proud to see how she affects him. Her passion is equal to his, if not more.

Marco can see the yearning in her eyes. She wants him as much as he does. They kissed and got carried away one more time. The love and desire for each other brought them to another level of intimacy. They were moaning loud and panting until they reached their climax together.

The happiness and contentment were visible after their quick lovemaking in the shower. When the couple left the room and headed to the kitchen, there was a noticeable smile.

Nana Maria shakes her head when she sees the two lovebirds reach the kitchen. They've been married for more than two weeks now, and unlike other newly wedded couples who prefer taking their honeymoon abroad or in a different place, they chose to stay in the cabin and the mansion on some other days.

"Good morning, Sir and Madam!" She smiled at them before she bows down her head. Athena is still not used to being called 'Madam or Ma'am,' but she just shrugged it off. She already told Nana Maria to call her 'Bea,' but she insisted that she could not do that but agreed that she'd call her 'Bea' if only the two were around.

They ate their breakfast in silence, but their minds were entangled. They are inseparable after their wedding, and today, Marco will be back at work.

"Eat more," he said while putting another piece of sausage and bacon on her plate.

"Okay," she replied absent-mindedly. She wants Marco to stay longer at home, but his vacation is already over. Although he can stay if she asks him to, she doesn't want to do that. She doesn't want to sound so clingy.

"Are you okay, babe?" He asked. He noticed a change in her behavior when they entered the kitchen.

"I'm okay, babe. I'll miss you a bit while you were at work," she said in a sincere tone while pouting.

Marco reached for her hand and kissed it. "I'll miss you too, babe," he said, looking at her eyes. "I'll make sure to give you a call from time to time," he promised with a grin.

Athena nodded and smiled sweetly at him. They head out of the kitchen and sit on the loveseat in the living room, cuddling.

"Sir Marco," Nana Maria called. A little embarrassed to disturb the two who showed their affection for each other in the living room. The couple behaved like one would leave for months when Marco would only be gone for eight hours, at most. Nana Maria shook her head, smiling. 'Ah, it's nice to be in love.' "Sir Anthony is waiting outside," she said politely.

"Thank you, Nana," he said without looking back, caressed Athena's head, and gave her a peck on her cheek.

"I'll be right back before you even know it." He thought of bringing his wife with him to work, but he didn't want her to be bored while waiting for him. He knows that she is more comfortable in the cabin than anywhere else.

"I know," she hugged his waist and leaned on his chest. "I'll be in the cabin while you're gone," she said softly.

He smiled when she said that. "I'll pick you up over there then, hmm?" He said inquiringly.

She nods and gives him a peck on his cheeks. "Go," she said and pushed him off. "Don't let Anthony wait for you any longer." He stood up and helped her get up as well.

Athena returned to their room as soon as Marco left to get her phone. She then walks her way to the cabin. In one week, Benjamin Baltazar will be in City S. She needs to plan to secure the information she needs to meet his doom.

She's supposed to retire after Anton Baltazar because she decided to let nature take its course. But because she wasn't able to report personally, she was assigned to accept another mission. And this time, it is related to her parent's death. The Baltazars, especially Benjamin, did not kill her parents, but they were the reason why. She can say that it's a blessing in disguise that she hasn't retired officially yet.

She checked her email and saw a reply from CamZ. They met during their last mission in the Amazon. CamZ is one of the three survivors from the other team, and they became friends after.

CamZ became her partner in every mission. They do alternate jobs on each task. If Athena does the action in the field, CamZ will take care of the scenes, from getting all the information needed to track their target to cleaning the mission's aftermath. So this time, she is waiting for CamZ's arrival to take care of Benjamin Baltazar, and she will be working behind the scene.

Everything at the conference where Benjamin Baltazar will show up is well prepared. He is trying to expand his business in City S, so he will personally attend the meeting to mingle with well-known business people.

The business conference will be at MC Group Companies' Beach Hotel and Resort. The only six-star beach and resort in City S. MC Group of Companies built it on a small island five years ago and opened it to the public a year later. It was a project proposed by the newly appointed CEO during that time.

Athena has everything ready and needs CamZ onboard. It will be a three-day event, including the guests' arrival from all over the country like Benjamin Baltazar—some are business people outside the country who would like to expand their business in City S. Attending the conference will be a good start for him to mingle and find a business partner to take care of the legal operations, and he'll manage the illegal business on the side. City S is a perfect place because of the water surrounding it. He can use its ports to receive and send cargo, using his restaurant as a front. He needs to transfer his shipments from City M to another city because of his nephew Anton Baltazar's carelessness.
