Chapter 8: MEI

As the class goes on and I wallow about with my thoughts, thinking about how to make my genes virtually perfect. Unfortunately, the gene editing in this world hasn't been focused upon unlike the energy production in this world. Energy crisis is a big problem after all, though because of the new power sources like nuclear and honkai power plants, we won't be destroyed by global warming and the such.

The only threat now will be the honkai. I must expedite my plans. Probably create a more suitable training plan for my stats 1st then possibly at high school reveal my genius mind so I can then truly start at gene splicing.

Damned honkai, probably the reason why making designer babies was withheld. No matter, I have plenty of time, honkai beast attacks still happen but they're taken care of pretty easily. Honkai impacts are the ones truly and absolutely dangerous for me, the radiation corrupts every organism almost instantaneously with high doses. I can safely conclude that my adaptation will not work quickly enough to battle it. I must have controlled doses exposed to me and then ramp it up, there is enough honkai energy to boost my resistance to it.

Based on the 1st 2 disasters. There is quite a bit of a time window when herrschers are born. at least a decade or 2, hm, of course this is not set in stone and it might get faster, that's why when I graduate high school I must get my hands on good tech and resources. Mom and dad can help me with this, they are researchers after all, and what do you know, when I asked them what do they do, they are actually researchers in fire moth. Their parents are Europeans who vacated from their country, because they thought the frequent honkai beast attacks and probable honkai impact would be dangerous, now we immigrated here in the far east.

The bell for recess rung throughout the school that broke me out of my thoughts. Taking out my lunch box which is approximately a pound in weight, what? I eat a lot, my metabolism is flexible after all. My height is actually taller than all the kids here now that I think about it, I probably have a physique of an 8 or 9 year old. Basically a head taller than the rest.

Now where's that girl MEI, there's no surnames here too. I guess different cultures or something. I scan my surroundings looking for my target ahem, friend candidate.

There she was at the front reading while eating a sandwich, basically alone. Kids don't like nerds at this age after all, she has that don't disturb me vibe too. Gotta go bother her then hehe, not like the others want to talk to me too. My eyes are kinda sharp and the deep green makes it look like I'm looking at your soul. Being a head taller than everyone kinda intimidates them too.

POV SWITCHEROO

Mei: As I was dropped to school and said my goodbyes. After a bit of navigating, I reached my classroom, pretty normal class, all things considered. Alphabets stuck on the walls, a hologram board for the lectures, and some chairs with tables on them.

Sitting at the front row seat, I sigh. Children of my age are stupid, only things they care about are playing and eating food off of the ground. I wish they won't bother me at least. Then I saw a pretty tall boy sitting on the last row, his eyes a piercing deep green that made me uncomfortable. Though he kinda looks listless, probably bored, I feel that he and me can get along. If, he isn't stupid.

He did introduce himself as one that is interested in science.

The bell for recess rung, I take out one of the books I brought so I can read in peace. My lunch too, a simple tuna mayo sandwich and some orange juice. I looked around before doing my own thing and I saw that Einheri boy taking out a huge lunch box packed with meat and vegetables. I guess that's why he's so tall I thought.

Taking a bite off my sandwich and opening my book I started to relax and read as no one is coming to bother me. A couple of moments later though, Einheri came and sat next to me with his lunch box.

He then casually said "Yo, I'm Einheri, you can call me Ein. You actually caught my interest when you said you like knowing more of the world?"

And as I was starting to get irritated as he will cut down on my reading time, I didn't know that this was the start of an intertwined fate that will throw the world upside down in an instant.

hey guys, mei has been introduced to the mc. As the players know she is extremely important to the past Era, I think I've captured her personality quite well no? Even though she is still quite childish, she's 5 right now after all.
