Chapter 22: The Tour

After I told Alex that I was going to come tomorrow, I walked back towards the house that mother had bought prior to my arrival. I didn't really need to wait for Carros to bring me home, though when he does come back, he might scold me.

I didn't think about what he might do to me because I was too excited for tomorrow. A nice little walk around the town with Alex. I will be able to know where everything is and get to spend most of the day with him.

I never thought that I would be so excited about a tour ever since I established the fact that I would have to live as a noble for the rest of my life. Finding Alex helped me get a break from all of the expectations everyone has for me and my busy school life.

Though, I was a bit sad to leave Sierra behind. I could consider her to be my very first friend who was around the same age as me in this life. Her personality on the outside was the complete opposite of mine. She was always talking with her friends like a normal sociable person.

However, she is also pretty reliable when there is work and can be a bit competitive at times. I hope she is still doing well in her school.

Anyway, enough talking. I will need to prepare for what will happen tomorrow. It might still be morning but, enough preparation would never hurt anyone.

Oh!

I forgot to do something important. I walk out of my room and call for some of my guards. Of course, I will need to act dignified when I give my instructions. I will call the captain first.

"Gerard, are you there? If you are here, come to my room immediately."

I then hear footsteps and look at the stairs. And yes, the house that was bought was a mansion that has its stairs at the back. I see Gerard speedily coming upstairs. That was fast.

"Yes, what is it that you need, Miss Luscia?"

"I need you and a few other guards to make sure that nothing happens to me. Also, keep out of sight because I want to enjoy myself."

"Understood. Though, I have one question. What are you going to do?"

"I am going on a tour."

Now, all of the preparations are complete.

(Switches to Alex's Point of View)

THE NEXT DAY-

Good morning.

Today should be the day I will give a tour of the town to Luscia, yes? She said that she will be coming in the morning, but I don't know the specific time. That is why, I should prepare my stuff as well.

No.

Wait a minute.

...

Aren't I a total idiot!?

Did I just say that I will give her a tour when I can't even see anything?! I need to tell her about this. But, the face she will make might be sad.

Frick!

My older brother instincts are activating!

I already memorized the map of the town, right? Yeah, I think I have already done that. Maybe, she can just help me by making sure that I don't bump into anything. Then, I can just ask her what the place we are in looks like so that I can tell her the specific details.

This plan is pretty bad. It is basically like the tourist is helping the guide know where they are. It is pathetic but, people will go to great lengths to please people who are close to them. I guess I am no exception.

I should go downstairs and get ready. I will also need to finish eating fast.

1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES LATER-

I finished up all of my duties. Right when I thought that, I heard knocking on the door. Also, since it is a weekend, mother is still sleeping. She sure likes sleeping on when she doesn't have work.

Because of that, I made my own bread with some milk. Where did the milk come from? It was one of the things that mother bought on the same day I woke up. Did the milk come from other creatures?

While pushing that question to the back of my mind, I opened the door.

"Hi, Alex!"

I was immediately bombarded with a spirited greeting from Luscia. She seems awfully happy and enthusiastic for this. Now, time to implement my plan.

"Nice to see you too, Luscia. Also, when we are moving around, can you make sure that I don't bump into anything or anyone? You will also need to tell me what the surroundings look like so that I can tell you where we are."

"Oh, I forgot that you can not see. Alright, I will help you. Also, there is something different about you. I can't figure out what though."

There is something different about me? It shouldn't be something too bad though. So, let us start.

"Alright, should we start?"

"Okay!"

Luscia grabs my hand and we both walked around the town together. Luckily, Luscia really made sure I didn't hit anything. I am relieved that I could trust her with something that important. Then, a question popped into my mind.

"Hey, isn't it not safe for two kids to be walking around town by themselves?"

Yeah, that was the question I asked. It really was dangerous, especially because everyone in town should know what Luscia is and what she looks like.

"Don't worry. I put some of my best guards in charge of protecting the both of us while we have fun."

Oh, okay.

If there are guards that got hired by her family protecting us, we should be fine. We then proceeded to go visit every place in town.

From the market, where we tasted some free samples, to the various shops, including a store that sells accessories, lining the streets, where Luscia spent some time looking at. I wonder why she was taking so long with checking out that shop.

Did something catch her eye?

Girls must really like their accessories, huh? Though, Luscia said that she didn't buy anything for herself because nothing was within her preferences. When we were done, we went back to my house when it was already late in the afternoon.

"Thank you for bringing me out. This was the first time I had so much fun in a long time. So, thank you again."

"No problem."

It was fun for me too. We then said goodbye to each other and went back to our respective homes.

At that time, I wished that everyday could be like this. However, I have a mission to complete before that.
