Chapter 6

The problem started when Hyun Na Bi got pregnant, five years into their marriage and came back to her husband's place with him. Her mother in law was the worst human being she had ever seen, making her own mother look like an angel. Just like the other daughter in law, Hyun Na Bi was forced to wake up at 4 am and cook for the entire family. She never let go of any opportunity to taunt Hyun Na Bi and always made sure to remind Hyun Na Bi that her son did not have any power in the company because he married a poor woman like her. Hyun Na Bi's son was taken care of by nannies from when they were born and she came to know that was how it was done in this family. No wonder no one was fond of the other in the house.

After two years she was pregnant once again and had a daughter. Hyun Na Bi was able to live comfortably only because her husband supported her even during all this time. The mother in law hated Hyun Na Bi and made sure that her life was hell in the house. Her first son was born and she was busy in taking care of the child but her mother in law did not want to allow that. Constantly she was compared to the first daughter in law of the family and also her husband's first wife who had died months back.

All was going well when one day she came to know the truth about her husband. He has been cheating on her and slept with different woman everyday when he did not return home and he had been cheating her for a very long time. The world came crashing down for Hyun Na Bi.

Hyun Na Bi had cried, pleaded and even threatened to kill herself Park Dae Hyun but he did not agree to divorce her. The Park family who had been trying all means to make her divorce him was now adamant that they would not let her leave with her children. They gave her no choice in this issue and she could no longer live like before with her husband. But yet she tried, to revive her marriage; to put everything behind them and start their life again. Hyun Na Bi thought that her husband was going to other women because she did not sleep with him often and she even tried that, but yet he was the same. It felt like that gave him the confidence that she would never leave him. So she started focusing on other things like working as the director in the gallery the Park family owned. Hyun Na Bi no longer wanted to depend on her husband. Even if she was to leave him now, she had no job or experience in any kind of job and she was sure she wouldn't be able to survive outside with her children. From that day onwards their marriage had become like the other business marriages and it was all a show for the society.

Hyun Na Bi started working in the gallery when she was 30. The pressure at home was too much to take in. Her kids did not consider her their mother at all and treated her like a stranger all due to her mother in law's influence and the job served as an escape from reality for her. Everything was going well until she learnt the truth about why they let her work. When several cases were filed against the family members for money laundering, that is when she knew that the family had made her the director to make her the scapegoat. Park Dae Hyun had helped her and made sure she came home after just the initial investigation but Hyun Na Bi had felt lost after that incident.

Her husband Park Dae Hyun was lying in the arms of different women every night, her children did not like her and now the Park family was trying to send her to prison. Her husband's brother's wife, the first daughter in law of the family even tried to kill her to complete the investigation. Hyun Na Bi begged the Park family to let her go but Park Dae Hyun never agreed to that. Every time this argument arose, his only reply was, "I love you and I'm never letting you go". That is when Hyun Na Bi started finding solace in alcohol and sleeping pills. Park Dae Hyun never argued with her even once during their entire marriage. When Hyun Na Bi found out that Park Dae Hyun was cheating on her when she was pregnant, she yelled and screamed and did everything she could but the only response she got from his side was silence.

Even through all this, her mother in law wanted her to wake up at 4 in the morning and prepare everything. No one was bothered about her mental health; everyone wanted her to follow a routine without asking any questions. She couldn't sleep at nights and that is when she chose sleeping pills to help her sleep. After the investigation about the embezzlement of company funds, Hyun Na Bi spent most of her time drinking away when she was at home.

It took a couple of months before she could come out of her house. What surprised her most was everyone in their social circle was aware that she was innocent. Hyun Na Bi did not want to go back to the gallery as a director. They had already messed her up enough and she no longer wanted to be their scapegoat. It had been nearly half a year since the incident took place and from when the day she was taken for investigation, Park Dae Hyun hadn't slept outside for even a single day. Hyun Na Bi did not know if he had changed or if it was for any other reason but Park Dae Hyun was the one who stayed by her the entire time. The Park family did not let the kids near Hyun Na Bi and instead sent them abroad to boarding school. Hyun Na Bi found it hard to even fall asleep and whenever she was at home, she drank the whole day.

Hyun Na Bi had met Jin Yong before a couple of weeks accidentally before she became 22. His face looked thinner, his eyes empty and the cold aura around him made him look like an unapproachable person. Though their meet was short, Hyun Na Bi had given him a piece of her mind without letting him speak once. She came to know about certain astonishing truths when they met for the second time and Jin Yong had begged her to meet him one more time. She was not sure if she wanted to meet him one more time. Her conversation with Jin Yong did not let her sleep and along with the problems at home, her head was about to explode any minute.

Just like that she had fallen asleep that day and now she was here back to 22.
