Chapter 9

When Gil got to the door of his room we was prepared to see someone else's belongings occupying the other half the room. When he opened it he was not expecting the scene before him, the other bed and night side table had been removed and replaced with a desk and a stand for his sword. On the desk there was a note Gil read.

"Dear Gil,

I have noticed you like to keep to your self and spend most of your time either training or learning. This is the type of attitude we here at the school like to see, as such we thought you would like to be able to continue focusing on this routine.

We have provided a card below that will allow you to access the training hall and bring library books home when others may not. This privilege can be taken if the rules are broken.

Gil wasnt sure how to respond as he hadnt seen Leon since the test on the first day. Looking at the card below he saw the schools logo of a earth behind a shield. Deciding to test this out when possible and thank Leon the next time he see's him, he put the sword in the new holder and turned to the bed. There was another letter there, Gil was expecting this letting him know where to go in the morning.

Unfolding the letter and looking at the map he saw an image of the the school. Gil hadnt realised how large the school was. Looking at it there was the castle in the middle, there was a large wooded area to the right of the front entrance to the are and opposite was a large open ground. Both of these wrapped round the castle and stopped when it met a large lake. Gil didnt know how large the castle was as when he saw the green land on the test, it was very vast and looking at this map he couldnt guess how large the castle was.

Looking at the information blow Gil was put into the attack group and needed to report to an arena in the space to the side of the castle on the open land. He needed to be there for 8:30 am, he needed to be in the schools training uniform and bring there weapon of choice.

Moving this to the night table, Gil sat on the bed and opened his status screen.

Gil opened the mana shaping message first.

When gathering mana the shape can now be altered. The higher the level the more complex the shape can be.]

Gil new this message was from when Del made the platform and instantly thought of a was to use this. When reading the books about the use of the different he found the best use of each. Wind was best for long range, water and fire where best at close range and earth was best for defence. Gil was wondering how to implement his earth blast for defence and after reading this thought of something.

"If i can change the shape to something like a circle to use as a shield to block attacks" Gil was now looking forward to his theory.

He then opened the second message.

When these screens popped up Gil suddenly felt more powerful and full of energy then he had ever before. He assumed this was due to the increase in Stats. He decided to save all of his free status points until he needed them or found something he wanted to invest them in. after confirming everything and washing and changing, Gil decided to have an early night.

Waking up before the sun raised, Gil got changed into his training uniform. The one Gil picked was the very basic and he couldn't afford any other, some had customised there or sent for a specific suit to accommodate there powers. The one Gil had was pure black trousers, and a matching zip up jumper. Below this he wore a a white vest. He was glad the uniform was imbued with mana and would change to fir the one wearing it as Gil realised he had changed again. He was now a bit taller with toned muscles showing, he didn't think the system had anything to do with the muscles as he had been training everyday for nearly a week for several hours. As he looked in the mirror before he left he looked very different from a month ago, his silver hear stood out against the black uniform, Thankfully for him his deep light blue eyes where the same, he was happy for this as they where the same as his mothers and never wanted them to change.

Strapping his sword to his back, not the conventional way with the handle facing upwards, he thought that flipping it so the handle was facing the ground would allow easier access for his fighting style.

With that he set of for his morning run and to test out his privilege card for a bit in the library to read about earth shield before the first lesson started.
