This is a battle that they are losing and they know it. They are very angry and frustrated. But they are not disappointed even though their attacks are not having any visible effect on him. This is because he is spending divine energy. 

His consumption of divine energy must be very high to resist all of them so well. He might be strong but they still have the advantage of numbers on their side.
