In the background, fireworks went off as their lips intertwined. Grey was surprised at the sudden turn of events. 

They spent a few seconds in that position before Ruby suddenly pulled away. 

Her cheeks were as red as a tomato, and her scarlet eyes nearly matched the shade of the red fireworks reflected in them. 

"T-That was m-my way of saying thanks... For helping me..." 

"Just that?" Gray asked with a confused look. 

Ruby was startled by the question, which caught her by surprise. "M-My kiss only amounts to just that...?" She asked, trembling with disbelief. 

"That's not what I-" 

Turning away from him, her bottom lip protruded outwards in a sulk as she closed her mouth and inflated her cheeks. 

Both embarrassment and annoyance were bottled up inside of her. 

When Gray saw this, he could not help but chuckle.
