There have always been strict rules in the palace that the three young siblings had to obey. Learn them by heart and follow them in all circumstances. Some of them were not to run in the corridors, not to paint on the expensive tapestry, not to make fun of funny looking guests, always to smile and to never close the doors loudly. It was a sign of distress, that something was not going well in the palace. 

They had been children, many years back and Xan could not say that he remembered clearly his child self. He was always obedient, following the rules as if they were an important part of his existence. He kept his things and toys in order, he always gave his brightest smile and never created conflict. Even as a  child he never painted on the tapestries nor played tag with his younger siblings in the palace.
