Surprise 14

I put on a gown which I deemed not only beautiful but handy as well, it does have pockets. I quickly skipped a knife inside it. I didn't know why they were calling me. I don't want them to know my identity. If they didn't care about my aunt, they would hardly notice me. But I still don't want to reveal my identity,, but I will when Igor dies by my hands he will know who killed him. I will announce to his face, his death is my revenge for my parents. I will then tell the whole world I'm the daughter of Assam and Sairee.

When I reached on the court, everyone was already seated. I did my customary bow before the king. I noticed every one doing it. I fisted my hands while doing so. I saw a cold smile in him. Even though Lucien was his son,, he never smiles like that. His smile never gave me chills the way his father does. Maybe because of the history me and his father shares. But I guarantee you even without it. I could just tell how cruel he was from his eyes.

"A beauty and also a warrior is present here, gentleman. I hope my son is taking care of you", said Igor, lips curling with a twisted smile. His words didn't go un noticed, people started guffawing. I was left red-faced. Lucien's face was impassive, as though he didn't hear the joke. Maybe he did but, he chose not to laugh.

"You called us father ", he said, to distract people from ridiculing us. Well, the joke is on them, I'm still a virgin and is intending to stay so for a long time. "Son after some discussion we found out that she is a good warrior we desperately need in our army. She will serve as a fine distraction there", he said, daring his son to cut his words. There is some hidden power play here. The one I'm missing at least.

"I don't understand what a human girl can do in our army, father?", he said calmly. "She has proved that she is excellent with bow and arrow, son. She deserves a place there", he said, amusement in his eyes. "That just proves me you all have seen how dangerous it is to give her weapons ", he said. "Is that how you feel, son? You think we are not strong enough to defend ourselves against a human girl and her arrows", he said in a challenging. "I think we should keep her there as the others without any special privileges ", he said again.

"Son, we are not giving her any special privileges. She will be earning her keep. The training can only do good for her. Not to forget, her nights will still be yours", he said laughingly. "I was only thinking of our protection, and it would be wise to not let her infiltrate our army", he said. "You worry too much, son. The war is over a long time ago", he said.

"Let's hear if she is interested ", said Igor. To be away from the four walls of bedroom I want to jump with joy, but Igor was the one providing me with the great escape that must mean there will be some catch. "I would love to train. I always wanted to join army", I stopped without finishing that sentence like my father. "It's done, you will train in the army for daytime, and we will see your progress. You will demonstrate your skills before us", Igor said. His sarcasm wasn't unnoticed. I knew he was upto something. I didn't know what? The way Lucien insulted me, I felt angry and ashamed. I won't forgive him for that.

I soon left the courtroom. Lucien didn't join me but was still standing there. They closed their door on my way out. That made me suspicious, I wanted to understand what was going on, but the guards motioned me to go. I reluctantly went away,, but my spirits were higher than before. I can work with the Lycan army, be in close contact with them. I can learn their strength and weaknesses. Maybe killing Igor didn't seem like a far-fetched idea anymore.

I went to the dining room and met with all the girls, they were delighted with my promotion to military. Some girls were even interested to join me. But that again was not up to me. They said they would rather fight than suck dicks. I should feel ashamed of myself even though I was being called as a selection I never had to do what they all do for surviving. I felt like a poser. Mina just hugged me and it felt excellent.

I have support group in them. They are my family now. I will save each and every one of them. "Be careful dear Igor never does anything without thinking. He wants you so much, we all could see it in his eyes. You know he is only quiet because of the prince. The king owes the prince big time. The war was won by prince. He is the one who is defending the kingdom. Maybe he is trying to separate you both", Mina said to me.

Mina's words were ringing in my mind all the time. I didn't think that the king is lusting after me. But I must take care if Mina is thinking so it must be true. For some reason she is thinking that the prince is saving me. But she was wrong I'm not a little girl anymore believing that the prince will save me. I save myself and kill my enemy without any prince. If the prince is jeopardizing it I will deal with him too.

I waited for tomorrow for the first time in a long time. Today had the best surprise for me. Igor might be thinking that he was deciding my life but in reality he was just digging his own grave. The prince has a whiff of my plans and he is this much protective. If he had any inkling of what I might do he will just kill me off.
