Bane was on the second floor of the night club. He had gotten caught up talking with some of the VIP guests on the second floor.
"Well it was a good investment choice suggested by a close friend of mine, but I couldn't make it successful without your support." He told them with a warm and grateful smile as he downed the last of the whiskey in the glass.
Even though he wasn't in the mood, the two men with overly pleased faces that were sitting at the table insisted that he have one drink with them so they could tell him how much they were enjoying everything. The quick drink somehow turned into three before the Alpha could leave.
"As much as I am enjoying your company, I do have some other things to take care of tonight. As a token of appreciation- drinks will be on the house tonight." He told the two men who immediately turned to look at the waiting staff that had been taking care of them. The man didn't need to be told anything to understand that they were indicating that they wanted more drinks.
Bane let out a low sigh once he was far enough away from the table that he was certain they wouldn't hear the noise. There were always a number of people he had to play along with so that they would keep coming in to support the club. Whether he had to give out free drinks or extra chances for gambling, it didn't matter as long as what he invested turned a profit in the end.
He noticed as he made his way to the bottom floor that his wolf was beginning to get more restless and he couldn't quite figure out why. The alcohol never had such an effect on the alpha before so he doubted it was anything of the sort. He couldn't sense any time of danger either.
Infrequently there was a soothing scent he thought that he recognized wafting throughout the club. However, he couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from or if he was imagining it as it was getting mingled with the alcohol, sweat, cigarette smoke, and other smells that filled the air.
His wolf side however seemed to think that it was something that was worth getting excited over as it kept trying to urge him to find it or let him take over so that he could. Bane did his best to ignore the daft creature however as he wanted to have at least one productive night.
He would've thought that he burned off enough of the other's energy when they went hunting the other night. They had crossed quite a large amount of land in order to find enough food to satisfy everyone. After that, they even had to drag it back in order to make sure that it was far enough in on their territory that rogue or other smaller packs wouldn't try to steal it. Bane never minded sharing within reason, but he never tolerated thieving of anyone kind since deals were easy enough to make through communication.
He hardly descended onto the first floor before he found himself surrounded by another group of people. This forced him to have to put his pleasant smile back on his face, shake a lot of hands, and pretend that he knew who all the fools that wanted his attention were.
"While I am pleased for the attention and appreciate all the support, would it be too much to ask to be allowed to reach a table before we get too ahead of ourselves?" He asked with a pressed laugh as one of the girls tried to take his picture. She was some model or other from what he could remember who most likely wanted a picture to brag about and raise her falling popularity by being able to claim she knew who he was.
Most of the others who surrounded the Alpha were much of the same, or fan girls and in some cases guys who either had a crush on him or looked up to him and hoped to be as successful as he was at some point in their lives.
Asking for a table seemed to work as most of the people around him stepped to the side to let him through. Bane didn't really know what table to chose however as most of them were full and the ones he preferred happened to be on the other side of the first floor. He wasn't quite sure he would be able to make it that far with how tight people were pressing him and the fact that he would have to go around the dance floor where most people were either too drunk to care about who was around them, too busy enjoying their partners (in the literal sense in some cases), or simply didn't pay attention to what was going on around them.
He deemed thought that it was going to be his best option if he wanted to have and comfortable sit and perhaps even get away from some of the humans who were bugging him. They might be too drunk to be willing to push through the crowd to follow after him and forget what they were doing if they lost sight of him.
Bane pushed his way through the crowd, not minding that some people seemed offended by his actions or curious where he was intent on going, distracted perhaps by the alcohol in their system that caused them to hone in on the fact that he was more handsome and good-looking compared to most humans.
He didn't make it more than half-way through the dance floor before a familiar voice flittered through the air and reached his ears causing him to perk up almost instantly and forget what he was doing. It was so faint that he wasn't sure he had been hearing right, but it was a voice that his wolf wouldn't forget no matter how long he had gone without hearing it.
If his mate was there though, wouldn't someone have already told him? If, so was he just imagining that he had heard her voice or was whoever in charge of letting customers in not know who she was? The werewolf never anticipated that she would want to come to such a place thus she was never put on the VIP list. Whatever the case, he followed the voice to see if she really was there or if he was just hearing things.
"I'm sorry. I already told you that I'm not interested and I'm here with a friend who will be right back at any moment." Celeste was sitting at a table where a very incessant man who looked to be rather wasted seemed intent on convincing her to get some drinks with him.
"C'mon sweetheart, your friend won't mind Imma sure. She hasn't been in ten minutes anyways. Few drinks won't hurt. We can even stay right here." At the sight of the scene playing out and seeing how uncomfortable the little human looked, he felt his defensive instincts kick in.
Who did the man think he was to touch something that didn't belong to him? Something would have to be done about that. An almost sadistic smile spread across Bane's face as he thought about this. Drunk people had accidents all the time, no one would likely think twice if something happened to him anyways. Perhaps it would teach others not to mess with what was his.
