“What you had was nothing more than a minor…a veryminor…outburst.”
Great. I couldn’t even pitch a fit properly. I sighed. “Well, thank you.”
“Not at all.” He nodded and left me to get myself together.
I went into the bathroom down the hall, stripped off my clothes, and turned on the water. While I waited for it to heat up, I made sure my pockets were empty before I dropped jeans, shirt, and underwear down the laundry chute.
My palm was feeling better, but I didn’t want to take a chance with it, so, as the night before, I put a latex glove on my left hand and wound a rubber band around my wrist so water wouldn’t get inside.
