I realized I’d been flat-out starting at him, and I blushed.

“We’re here.” 13

Hyde smiled at me.

Because I was so obviously enthralled by him? “Excuse me?” I blushed even harder and could have cursed my fair complexion.

“Chantilly Lace.”

“Oh! Yes, we are.”

Since Chantilly Lace had valet parking, he put the car in park and left the key in the ignition. An attendant came jogging up.

“I’ll take good care of your Mercedes, Mr. Wyndham.”

“Thanks, Chuck. Kipp?”

I scrambled out of the SUV and made myself walk sedately around to where he stood.

“You know him?” Was this how it started? Hyde was so gorgeous, and this bozo was so…friendly. I wasn’t sure if I should worry or not, but I wasn’t going to ask Hyde about it.

“Yes.”

“Are you going to tell me how?” Shit. I guessed I was going to ask him.

“His family owns Chantilly Lace.” A smile was there and then gone so quickly I wasn’t sure if I’d actually seen it. He ushered me into the foyer.
