Chapter 17

Justin finished the other slice of pizza and tossed the paper plate in the trash under the sink. He leaned against the counter, his arms folded and tried to picture the man who’d run him off the road. The man was dangerous. He already murdered Justin’s driver and tried to murder Justin. Surely the police here would do something about it. If they actually believed Justin.

Considering he wrote mysteries with detective characters, he’d expected to get more cooperation from the police. More interest in his dilemma. He’d taken pains to research and ask questions of some of thesame police officers. They treated him politely but still acted as though he were somewhat of a nuisance.
