Chapter 7 - Understanding a Villain

Zhu kang awkwardly stood in front of him. The super villain seemed too busy sighing and scratching his head.

'ummm might as well lighten the mood.'

He walked around the house and found a clean towel. He then spread it on the sofa neatly. Only then did he plant his butt on it. "So...." he scooted close to him. "Tell me about yourself? is villain thing something we do on a daily basis or is it a hobby?"

Gwyn sat up straight and peered into his eyes. "Do you really not remember me?" his green eyes desperately looked into his own.

'Poor guy.... he must have been very close to the original owner.... sigh'

Usually, for the transmigration to happen, the likely targets chosen are the one whose death is close. The original Zhu kang must most likely be dead if he hadn't entered this world.

"I would very much like to say that I remember you, but the fact remains that I in fact have no memory of what so ever," Zhu kang elegantly glanced at him.

He intentionally softens his words in order not to enrage the super villain. He placed a hand over his muscular one. "There, there.. Everything will be okay,"

But the guy just gave him a glaring look. "So, do you remember me or not? Be clear,"

"Dude, I was literally speaking English. I don't know you. I don't know any of this," he pointed at the well-decorated wall of news clippings. "Everything is just confusing," he pouted a little.

Being thrown into a new world was really confusing to process. When he was a system, he used to make fun of the transmitted souls who panicked at every situation. But standing in their situation, he could empathise with them.

'I'm a villain and a thief. This sucks. Plus, that electric fryer Alta is right after our tail. This could get very dangerous.' He shook his legs anxiously.

If he miss-stepped even a little, he could lose his second chance in life. He was not sure if the transmitter was still active in the system pods. 'The black suited guys must have destroyed it.'

"zhuzhu...." suddenly his body was enveloped in a tight hug. "Try remembering me." he said in the most pitiful voice.

Zhu kang really wanted to say, 'that's not how it works.' But... feeling that guy's trembling shoulders, he shut all those words in.

He gently patted his shoulders. "I'll get better in time. But till then, just get me up to speed. And no heist until then got it?"

"Got it,"

Gwyn kang sat down and started to narrate their story. "I...I'm not sure who are parents are but from a young age we were in a posh looking orphanage."

"From the outside, everything looked normal, but the guy who ran it had dealings with the black market. Each month a kid disappeared.... one day it was your turn." he peered at him intently.

Zhu kang froze. 'Was I going to be sold as a slave or worse, for medical testing.!!!!!'

"They came in the middle of the night with rags... like they were going to capture a wild animal," Gwyn growled loudly, punching the table in front of him. It shattered into dust.

"What happened after that?" Zhu kang gently touched his arm. The muscled under his hand visibly relaxed.

"That night, a monster awoke in me when I was trying to protect you. The next thing I know, we were surrounded by dead bodies," Gwyn held his shoulders. "I am not a bad person... I... I just wanted to protect you. But you got so scared of me... you ran,"

"The next day, you went missing. So I ran away from the orphanage to find you...."

Zhu kang moved closer and listened with keen interest. "Gasp, Oh my god I was such a bad brother."

"sigh.... you... you were captured by the notorious snake head gang. You were just eight..." Gwyn started to tear up.

Zhu kang on the other hand, was super shocked by the villain's back story. 'Maybe that's why he is a villain. He must be bitter from his experience at this so-called gang,'

"I was able to track you down after five years. We reunite and broke away from the gang and started doing heist on our own." Gwyn wiped his single tear away and smirked proudly. "We have achieved so much, brother," he glanced at the wall with a huge smile on his face.

"wait wait, when comes the part where we completely suck at it?"

Gwyn looked offended at his offhand statement. "We are doing great! Look at these clippings. Why would anyone want to publish about a failing villain," he proudly said with his chest raised up.

'Buddy, we are getting front page because of a certain someone's attention. Not because of your popularity.' He said in his mind, but outside he maintained a stoic face.

"So where do we stand now?" Zhu kang glanced at him secretly. This man's face was completely scrunched up. He looked devastated and sad at the same time.

"My baby brother, I'm gonna teach you all the ropes." He sighed. "We'll start from the beginning picking locks...."

"Whoa boy, hold your horses," Zhu kang stood up and patted his butt clean. "Listen, all this seems super awesome and all but, I am a college student. I can just finish the course and get a job like any other normal person. Why should I struggle to rob something when I can just earn it?"

The man glared at him intently. "We are a team, The Gemini twins. Are you just going to walk away from this? From us?"

"Yes," by now Zhu kang was fairly confident that this man would not physically hurt him. He walked out of the door into the dark streets.

'This world is quite complicated.' He glanced back at the depilated door. "At least I'm alive that's what's more important."

Zhu kang walked back to his college. It was late at night and the gates were firmly closed. He climbed over the walls easily. His new body was surprisingly very agile. "That's a good addition." He happily hoped back to his dorm.

The dorm room was still dark and everyone was asleep. He crept in and crawled into his bed.

He picked up his phone and started to do his basic research on this world.

The next morning, he was rudely woken up by one of the roommates. "Get up. We have our classes soon. Are you sick? You usually don't sleep in,"

"No... I was just tired..." he whispered, wiping at his eyes.

The guy blushed slightly and ran to his bunk bed. He looked cute with black curly hair and a pair of cute frog like wide eyes. 'He looks cute.'

The love gel guy popped his head out from the lower bunk, surprising him a bit. "How could you sleep like a monkey, for god's sake?"

Zhu kang tiredly glanced at him. He had no mood to contradict his word, nor had the energy to have a verbal fight with him. Last night he was up all night searching up about this hero and villain stuff and barely had any sleep. "Can I afford to cut class?"

All three of his roommates glanced at him in shock. "Oh my god... you are planning on cutting class,"

"Yes? Is there a problem?"

They all snapped out of their dazed state and shook their heads.

The cute guy who woke him up smiled at him. "Get some rest. I'll bring back the notes for the day,"

"Thanks," he pulled the sheets over him and slept off.

The three left the door with a bewildered look on their faces.

"Did you just hear that? He wants to cut class. I wonder what's going on, he rarely cuts classes," the one who woke Zhu kang up whispered biting his finger nails.

The love gel guy smacked his hands. "Shut up, Ruth. That guy kept moving around in his bed all night. Now I have dark circles under my eyes," he whispered, glancing at the small compact mirror he carried around.

"Come on Jakey, let's go." Their other roommate, Seth, pulled the love gel guy, Jake into the busy hallway.

Ruth just glanced down at his feet. 'But he did not sleep here... he was out with a guy....'
