There are many sources of power that those living on earth utilize to survive in a world that is turning into a more savage state.

Magic is one of these.

Not all could use it.

Only those endowed with mana have the ability to harness the power and use it to their advantage.

Any living thing whose hearts start to spark and later turn into flames is a sign that you have the capability to use magic.

Everyone called it the 'Growth of Fire'

There is a fire in your heart that doesn't burn but indicates the growth of magic powers. The more it lights up inside of you, the more power you have.

The magician could determine the growth by meditation and could see how the fire inside of them lit up.

For all that, ancient magicians developed a measuring tool to determine their growth equivalent to the level of strength of a magician, and nothing else is known to determine the level of a magician.
