Time and progress 2

WHITE DIAMOND'S P.O.V

I looked at the Onyx Gems sparing on a recording and I have to say that I am impressed with Black's work. They have capabilities that would allow them to fight against High Quartzes and they can serve on exploration teams, mining, commanding, and of course combat.

"*Sigh*"

I return to my comfortable stance of standing with my arms stretched into a diamond pose as screens begin to flash into existence in front of me. As I go over reports, statistics, and etc. I begin to think.

However not all Gems can be Diamonds, the cold chunks of crystals in the Diamond incubating planets are proof of that.

"…"

While they have such excellent and versatile usage, they ultimately use too many resources to use planets effectively. They might be the most expensive Gems to make as of now, that may change depending on my other sisters. It's been three months since Black made the first Onyx Gems and I gave her the amount of space to make more.

When Yellow heard about this she immediately went to work on 'catching up to Black' would be the correct wording. She is showing incredible aptitude for military strategy and management. Even without me or Black explaining to her, she saw the data on the Onyx Gems and came up with new formulas to make up the numbers.

There were two formulas I believe, one is still in the making and another was called Beryl, although notably less advanced than Black's Onyx Gems, it does show potential especially on terrestrial expeditions. The design made it clear that Black helped her to make it, from the Gems and weapons she submitted showed she had excellent taste.

The Beryl Gems had the ability of Geokinesis and vibration sense, they would be good ground troops. The appearance of a Beryle is a tall and slender young man with fair skin and a stern expression. Their eyes are bright and sharp, amber in color with glowing yellow pupils set in the shape of standard circles. They wear dark yellow eyeliner on the lower lids of their eyes. They have shades of dark brown and dirty blond hair that is usually styled in a windswept fashion with a longer fringe that hangs from the right side of their faces. It fades to amber brown at the tips and is pulled back in a long ponytail that falls beyond their waist.

Their attire is elegant and form-fitting, consisting of a beige dress shirt, a brown and amber waistcoat, slim black trousers, black dress boots, and black gloves. Over everything, they wear a long dark brown tailcoat with dragon scale patterns, gold and silver accents, golden tassels, and the Diamond symbol on the back.

(A bit like Zhongli but with alterations)

Practicality wise they don't lose to the Onyx Gems and the amount of resources they use is between a standardized Quartz and a terraforming type Gem that Blue is making. However, multiple battles and tests revealed how little a bit of dirt can affect those that can manipulate space.

Speaking of Blue she is still in the process of making her first Gem formula, Black is of course helping her like she always does but is giving Blue more mobility than Yellow. I asked her why this is and she responded.

"I just find it adorable when the crybaby figures it out." I was confused what this "baby" was but she quickly explained how emotional Blue is, she sees it as adorable and just who Blue is.

I would have been worried about Blue's ability to perform if her powers weren't tied to her emotions.

Good thing too, she would have been more of a waste otherwise.

Now then there is Pink, she is quite the paradox that little one. She was formed with a lower amount of nutrients, yet she has as much ease with her powers as me. I thought Black was impressive. She has this ability to connect with other people, an aura that Black calls charisma, but she is so childish that she can't even use it. I can feel it when we get do her "Diamond get together", it is honestly quite fun being with her. However, deep down I sense a violent force within her just skimming under the surface. Quite the paradox indeed

This can be seen in her Gems, Ruby and Amethyst. She created them in less than a week and the only help she received from Black was a secondary check. The abilities they received are basic, being minor forms of fire manipulation and combat aptitude. Though they can't be elites they can help us fill the numbers. However, despite this Pink shows no consideration on this aspect, maybe she needs more time before she can begin her expedition.

Now onto Black, the one that gives me the most to think about. She is a genius, her formula is proof of that. The fact she can give the ability to manipulate space, no matter how minor, to Gems is quite impressive seeing as how it is significantly harder than the elemental manipulation that my other sisters are working on.

I've been observing her when I can. She often goes into periods of seclusion to finish her work and I've seen how she uses her aura, powers, and skills to maintain a certain type of presence around other Gems. She made improvements to Homeworld technology and some original designs. She seems so excited to design her ship and Gems. The only thing of possible worry would be her powers, not the constructus or telekinesis but the one she has over Gems minds.

I'll wait for her to tell me on her own, I don't want her to feel as though she has no privacy after all. She has proven herself to be… good company, before the rest of the Diamonds. So I should treat her with the amount of consideration she has shown to me. I also knew her powers the moment I saw her, all Gems are within me afterall. I worry her intelligence may get in her own way, but it should be fine. We'll be there for her.

She wouldn't betray me, I can see the look in her beautiful eyes when she sees me and our sisters. The 'smart one' doesn't seem to realize she is just as emotional as the.. "crybaby" did she call it, just in a different way, not that it's a bad thing.

"I cemented that bond when I created my sisters after all."

I said out loud to the seemingly vast darkness of my ship.
