I Hope I See You On The Other Side

Percy looked up from where he was lying on his bed in defeat and immediately jumped off to inspect what was happening to his companion. Wonder filled his previously dead eyes so he looked more like his old self. 

  "You're disappearing."

"Thank you, Captain Obvious," Roman growled. "But what does it mean?"

He was about to answer but his hand began to vanish as well. By this point Roman's entire arm was gone and so was part of one of his legs. 

"I think we're being sent back," Percy marveled. "It worked! Or we're vanishing from the earth permanently. I honestly can't be sure. I would need more data."

How was he supposed to collect data at a time like this?! They were vanishing and had no idea where they were going! One option meant real happiness. The other would result in…what? Limbo?
