Tricks Of The Mind

The guard returned to Seth, who waited on the balcony for the commander. He bowed before he started to speak with a scared expressionon his face. He witnessed what the prince had done to his colleague and was hesitant to give the prince the news he had for him – as if the news was his fault. Nevertheless, the guard swallowed before he spoke; 

"I-I didn't find the commander, My Prince…"

Seth turned to look at the guard.

The guard jerked backward, taking a step to prevent whatever the prince wanted to do to him.

Seth noticed but ignored the guard's behavior. "What do you mean you couldn't find the commander? Where would he be at this time?" Seth asked, shocked at the guard's discovery.

"I checked the whole palace, My Prince… but he's not around these grounds. I came back to take an excuse to check outside the palace grounds…" the guard said with a bow of his head.

"You're excused," Seth said.
