Shopping/Fighting

Walking around the main street of New Seelnd was a particular, young sheepkin.

"Hey, hey! Miss Mizuki! We got a delivery of fresh apples here!"

"I'll come by a little later Mr. Denton!"

"Better make it quick, these are bound to sell out fast!"

This was only one of the multiple greetings she gets daily. The shopkeepers and regular patrons around main street all know her, the angel of the library to aspiring mages and goddess of the dock to young sailors.

Honestly all these nicknames were getting on her nerves but she ignored it.

Walking back to her inn she sat down and started contemplating.

"The highest grade of military ship goes for about 100 platinum coins give or take. With the money I have now I can most likely buy a fleet but I have neither the crew or the connections for that neither are they anything that interests me."

"My best bet is to go to the auction house every so often to see if they have any special pirate ships. Blessed or cursed does not really matter if I can modify them correctly."

Standing up and looking at the reflection of herself in the window she thought out loud.

"Maybe it's time for the mysterious robber to make a second apperance. I need some other clothes, but before that I'll need to go shopping anyway. It would be a shame if I didn't use any of my money that I earned."

Looking at the desk next to her bed she opened the locked drawer with a spell and took out the contents.

In Mizukis hand was an obsidian apple with a quartz-like cross in the middle. When she inspected it back at the 'shop' that she raided it read the following.

There was no description.

'Maybe I should eat it?' thought Mizuki while throwing the apple in the air and catching it again.

'Meh. I'll think about it tomorrow. Thanatos literally means death in greek and so does the cross symbol so I'll leave it for now.'

"For now I'll buy an apple from Mr. Denton and wait for the night."

...

Suddenly sitting up from her bed Mizuki stood up and changed clothes to the ones she used as the robber.

"It should be about 3am. Good time to commit some crime I would say."

Jumping out of her window, Mizuki slowly decended and started running through the streets to the location of the auction house.

Interestingly enough, the 'store' she had robbed a few days prior was infact the auction house. Which did explain the reason for so much wealth in a single location.

Suddenly stopping by the street she looked at a high-end clothing store.

'I doubt the auction house has clothes. Armor, most probably but regular clothes? Nah.'

Using the space element to phase through the wall she took a look around for suitable clothes. Picking up a black jacket, an interesting looking hat that seemed oddly familiar, a red bandana and black boots with white highlights, she took her leave.

'For some reason I feel like I'm cosplaying.'

Running towards the auction house once more she reached it after about 4 minutes.

Mizuki could have infact teleported to the location but she did not know if any more high tier guards were patrolling around the area than last time.

Infiltrating the main area she swiped a tablet from the counter and started browsing the goods.

The stuff that caught her eye the most were the following.

[Records of Sea Creatures and Where to Find Them]

[Crystallized Fairy Heart]

[Hat of a True Pirate]

"Some very interesting loot in here today."

"'Records of sea creatures and where to find them' should be something akin to a rare book. At the moment I know a lot about the legends of the sea but there really isn't anything that detailed in the library."

"The Pear of Gaia should be something similar to that apple I got last time. Really convenient that two pieces of the same puzzle are at the same place. But there should be one more that I have not found yet so I'll just keep it in the collection for now."

"That Soulless Pearl might be a ship. Judging from the term 'Soulless' I'm guessing it's cursed rather than blessed, but it might just be a rare cursed item rather than a ship as well."

"Lantern of eternal light just sounds interesting, the fact that it has eternal in the name means I don't need to fuel it with neither mana or any oil so it should be pretty helpful."

"The hat seems like it will give a few benefits when I become a pirate. Ofcourse I'll only take it if it looks better than the one I have on now."

"And lastly is the Crystallized Fairy Heart. Considering that I have never heard, read about nor seen a single fairy means that they should be pretty rare. And the fact that it is a heart might mean I can get another rare bloodline under my belt."

"Now let's get to the storage roo-"

Before she could finish the word 'room' along with her sentance, she felt danger on her right and tried to dodge.

She failed to dodge correctly and her right hand, just below her shoulder was nearly cut off as bone could be seen.

"You mother f*cker! You almost made me lose an arm!" said Mizuki with a few tears in her eyes and gritted teeth.

Looking at the attacker, Mizuki had an overwhelming sense to run.

Following fer gut feeling she slowly backed off as the attacker slowly moved out of the shadows.

'I couldn't sense them at all.' Mizuki thought with a frown as her HP was quickly regenerating.

Mizuki didn't wait for the figure to fully show itself as she used inspect to get their name.

"Ah. Mother f*cker. So it's you."

[Margherita]

"Mergo or whatever your name is."

Margherita furrowed her brows as she said.

"Even a mere robber should have heard of the name Margherita the knight captain of New Seelnd. Which means you are not from this country." said Margherita as she unsheathed her sword.

"Jumping to conclusions. Never heard of you. Don't care either. I'm just here to do some shopping."

"That, I will not allow. I will take you to interrogation. Either dead or alive does not matter, for the knight brigade in this city has a soul element user. So I would recommend coming without fighting back."

"First off, your way of speaking is irritating so shut up. Secondly, I do what I want so I'll shop as much as I want, some fighting will not stop me from doing that."

"Fighting a tier 4 as a tier 3? You must be joking. The difference between tiers is the same as a newborn fighting an adult. From your aura I can tell that you are mid to high tier 3 at most. You have no chance of defeating nor killing a tier 4 that is multiple realms ahead of you in strength." Margherita took her stance as she said this.

"I'll just have to trancend a couple realms then, a newborn can still kill an adult if they are smart enough and lastly. Who said anything about killing you?"

As Mizuki finished their talk with a question, she flipped in the direction of the closest door and started to escape to the storage room to get what she came here to get. Well, to get 'most' of what she wanted to get. She can't really run around the streets with a ship in hand now can she?

As she was approaching the door to the main storage area she heard a strange, high pitched sound coming her way.

Looking back she can see a distortion in space or something similar to it.

Dodging the moving blade swing that tore a hole in the side of the wall she looked back at Margherita to see her entire body being incased in the strange distortion that seemed to vibrate the air around her.

'She can control sound?! The sound element? No, I can not see her MP decrease. So that means she is a-'

Another blade was sent towards her, a horizontal swing this time.

'She is an esper. A high ranking one at that. It seems she has something like [Audiokinesis]. If it's not that then she has a peculiar unique skill.'

Dodging two more slices and a thrust Mizuki was thinking of any idea that could get her out of this.

'I can not dissipate the mana in her attacks. Something else is infused within the mana, something that I have no control over. If this is the same with every ability I would not be suprised.'

Keeping a steady pace towards the door while dodging more thrusts and slices of vibrating molecules, Mizuki had a slight enlightenment.

'If every ability is infused with this 'substance' it would explain how esper abilities ignore all forms of physical and magical defence. Most low tier abilities have only a miniscule amount of this 'substance' and is mostly made of mana which explains how I can dissipate the mana in low tier esper ability attacks and attacks from low tier enemies.'

'This Mergo lady has a high tier ability that lets her make certain things vibrate along with being tier 4, an extremely dangerous ability if trained under the right conditions.'

"heh. I might just be in trouble." mumbled Mizuki to herself, not aware that Margherita could hear every breath she took and every word she mumbled.
