I'm careful to stay out of the room, sticking to the hard, pinching stone of the castle's veranda instead. But from the outside I see clearly, the room is illuminated in bright golden lights from the modernized ceiling, it clashes with the medieval aesthetic of the rows of candles lit on the benches and stools. There's a flower pot in one corner with a cactus of all plants and where the woman stands is a more refined living room, contrasting wildly with the castle's old feel.
Fluffy white sofas, a glass table with a bottle of wine and to top it off behind her is a shell of a knights armour, the blade missing. She smirks, swirling the wine in her glass, eating me up with her eyes.
I wouldn't have stopped to think that she of all people in the castle would turn out to be Letharguys new Lieutenant.
