Breaking out

Several hours earlier.

Narilia stood in front of her dressing mirror, lost in deep thought. Ulke had been making more trips to the realm of immortals and she knew him better than to think he was up to any good. He would probably tell her nothing if she asked, so she wondered if she could get Dairon to tell her about it.

When the door opened out of the blue, she dropped the glass in her hand out of shock. She jumped and luckily evaded a cut, but water spilled on her foot and the hem of her dress.

"Are you alright?" Asked Ulke in concern.

"I'm okay. I was terrified, that's all." She ressisted her urge to scold him for entering her room without knocking. She was becoming less tolerant of the demon but she knew better than to provoke him. He had too much power and offending him might just lead to hurting her or the people she cared about.

She forced a smile. "Do you need something?"
